Vitali should have retired on top. I still think Vitali will win but I'm a little concerned about his skin because Stiverne does have punching power. I would rate Stiverne above Pulev for sure. If Vitali can avoid getting hit to much he will win. If he allows Stiverne to land he will have major cuts and may be looking at a TKO6 loss on cuts.

    I like Stiverne. Good fighter.

But he doesn't have the footwork necessary to beat Vitali.

I don't understand the love Stiverne is getting. I want Vitali to get some credit, but in all honesty Stiverne is a nobody, his best and only decent win was against Arreola. All of his other opponents were bums.

Vitali wins via KO, round 2, just like against Kirk Johnson.

He banished fat boy from heavyweight contention.

He should get a medal for that.

then he shouldn't take the fight and retire. no excuses if he takes the fight and loses.

Anything besides kid bro-Povetkin winner, Fury-Haye winner, Pulev, or Charr II is pretty much :dead - including this.

    Just retire and go away.

He looked masterful outboxing Arreola, but it was ****ing Arreola.

Anyone harboring illusions that Stiverne is some great crafty boxer, I would direct you to view Stiverne vs. Austin to have those illusions shattered.

All of his shine comes a) outboxing Arreola (piece of cake if you have a sturdy HW chin and even a shred of skill) and b) knocking out Price in the ams (not quite so remarkable now that we know the worth of Price's whiskers)

Nothing else on his cv lends itself to justifying hype as some threat for VK.

Has Vitali ever fought a skilled technician during his comeback? Stiverne is another slower plodder, not an elite fighter. Solis is the only elite fighter Vitali fought and that was a controversial win. Vitali, please step up and fight someone who can threaten you.

if Stiverne comes in decent shape, he can make old man Vitali lose some sleep, but if he keeps injury free, then he will probably stop Stiverne late

Lets hold up. He couldn't even beat Charr. Does anybody actually believe Vitali won that fight?
Charr's gameplan was to come on strong. Vitali sensed it and was tired so had the fight ended without even letting Mannys corner tend to the bleed.
Im pretty sure what they did was illegal.
I had respect for Vitali up until that point, now i hope Stervine peels his block back.

good post. Vitali has skill and power just like Stiverne. I would like to see vitali lose this one. No because he is not a great fighter but I'm just ready to see someone new on the throne.:bbb
