I understand that Vitali is getting older, but I still think he would beat the breaks off of Wlad. He may say that Wlad would beat him, but that's just for the press. In reality, Vitali is more willing to take on all comers than Wlad, and he's more proven against better opposition, IE Lennox Lewis. Wlad looks excellent against guys that can't punch, are afraid to work their way inside, or can't duck a punch to save their life, but against Vitali, he would have a skilled fighter in front of him with plenty of intangibles. It is true that Wlad has better handspeed, and more explosive power, but Vitali is a TRUE fighter. He will press Wlad, and show Wlad a more versatile opponent than he's ever seen. Wlad won't have a signficant reach advantage, and Vitali will be able to tag him, and when Wlad gets tagged, but realizes that Vitali is no *****, and is capable of taking his punches, he will hyperventilate until Vitali beats him to a stoppage.
Right now I would say Wlad on UD (4 to 5 rounds). Prime for prime Vitali on (T)KO. If they weren't brothers and would go all out that is...
Here's where you're wrong. Wlad has only ever been defeated or frustrated by guys that can punch, and Vitali can't punch...not anymore. He hit the kingpin, Peter, and Arreola with everything but the kitchen sink and he couldn't knock them down. It took him how many rounds to dispose of Sosonowski? The two most popular misconceptions about the Klitschkos is the Vitali is a huge puncher and that Wlad can't take a punch. Now, Wlad might not have a great chin, but Vitali does not hit hard enough to get him out of there with a few shots. And when it comes to the jab, there's no comparison. Vitali was actually outjabbed for stretches against the C class Kingping Johnson. Wlad would destroy him in a jabbing contest. Wlad wins a fairly one-side decision, at this stage.
The Vitali that went ten rounds with sparring partner-grade Sosnowski wouldn't win a round against Wlad. Sorry, but he's far past it.
For all his faults, Kingpin has decent jab and very good defense. He is like a broke ass Mayweather with no right hand. Vitali didn't land anything flush on Kingpin. Compare it to Wlad's showing against Ibriganov, but Vitali being less reluctant and at least trying to make a show out of the event. And I believe Arreola has only been down once in his career, only to get up and knock the other guy out. Also, Wlad hit a PRIME Peter with everything he had, and still didn't knock him down. The smiley face is for the notion of a prime Peter. Vitali may not have explosive punches, but he has hard thudding punches and would be willing to go to war. When Wlad realize he can't just control Vitali with his punching power, and Vitali manages to puncture his guard, he will likely panic and fold.
