"We never competed against each other in any tournaments. We sparred with each other, and those sparring sessions were not fun. It was very bloody, emotional, and we just realized after getting injured, in another sparring session against your brother, we decided not to do that."

Always thought this was a weird one in that I believe Wlad is more a great, yes partly because he fought more and did more, but also because he was a much better boxer in my opinion.
Vitali was just hard as nails though and as Tyson Fury has shown, if you disrupt Wlad's game plan, then you have him by the neck. Who better to do that than Vitali?
    Head to head: Vitali
    Who was better?: Wladimir

I don't think Vitali hits hard enough to make deer in headlights Wladimir appear.

    Wladimir TKO6.

The best separation between the two is who did better vs. common opponents such as Sanders, Peter, and Purity.

As a fan of both bros, I never worried about Vitali in the ring losing on points or by being floored for the count / TKO'd. Injuries stopped him, never ability. With Wlad there were some pins and needle moments for sure, even in victory.

Vitali is a better boxer than anyone Wlad fought, hits hard, plus had the durability to take his best...so for Wlad the question is not if the pins and needle moments happen, but when.

While Wlad is the better overall boxer, he wasn't as good to the body, didn't use an uppercut and wasn't as good on the counter or moving / hitting at the same time.

I will agree with you, and think Universum has the video. Universum by the way felt Vitali was the better of the two and hit harder, pre his multiple surgeries.

Actually this is a good question for sports writers to ask, not if you would fight for money, but rather are there any videos of the hard sparring between the two.

yeah my own personal thought is they MUST have had a semi-full on fight behind closed doors at some point. Noone but they know the result.

For sure. They both say they stopped sparring because it got too heated and brutal. So they know.

This is how I see it, and also the timeline in terms of who was better.
