I agree. Arreola probably is not ready just yet. Regardless if it happens it will be an exciting fight for the fans something that is much needed in the Heavyweight Division.
Peters just barely scraped by McClie . . . knocked down three times . . . what else do i have to say?
Fighting Arreola now is like eating a meal before its finished cooking. He needs alot more time in the oven and alot more seasoning! BUT it will be fun to watch for a few rounds!
Yes, he should probably fight a few more top 10 heavies before going for the title, but there are also positives in this fight for him: - He will earn the biggest check of his career. - If he loses, it won't really mean much. He's young and not very experienced, so getting beat by the best heavyweight in the world (or at least 2nd best) won't kill his career. He'll probably still be in the top 10 and will get another shot at the title down the line.
I don't know what's gonna happen as far as this fight goes..But I feel that larry Merchant is right..If Arreola manages to win a title He'll become a major star in the sport and give Boxing a big time boost.
I like Arreola's Agression and his combination punching..even if he weighs in the 250lbs he may be too much for a 38 yr old Vitali who's had a history of being injury prone.
Considering that Cris Arreola is Mexican / American, I'm sure the Mexican based WBC will see fit to bypass Olego Maskaev in this cause...... GOOD NEWS TOO!! However, all in all, I see V.K. handing Arreola a serious beadown enroute to a TKO / KO win........ Klit is in a different class altogether...... MR.BILLrasta:yikes
Good matchup! At his aga and with his injury history Vitaly does not have too much time left. He wants to take exciting fights that will motivate him and that will sell with the public. Plus this kid Arreola has balls of steel and will keep coming at Vitaly all night. Vitaly better not keep his left hand so low in this fight.
