great news. i dont expect cris to win but he will learn more in this fight than fighting lesser opponents for the next year and perhaps by his next shot he will be ready to be king. he is a bit rough right now but power is the great equalizer so he has a shot regardless of how small. viyali will be forced to throw a lot of leather to keep this guy off him so as a fan im all for a good acrap.

Arreola isn't a bad opponent, the hype will end for Arreola but it will be a one sided fight, Arreola's going to look bad outside of the opening round, and even then who knows.

Maskaev doesn't deserve a shot at Vitali for **** and he knows it thats why he trys bringing back an old rivalry they had in the amueters to make this fight more appealing cuz everyone knows he's done **** all. Bring out Arreola.. much better matchup than that piece of **** Maskaev.

    VITALI KO late rounds

I think this would be a good fight, but Arreola would probably be very susceptible to Vitali's upward jab....Jameel connected with those hook/uppercut punches that seemed to hurt Arreola a bit and that area of his defense is wide open

let maskaev fight arreola that will determine who is ready for this...oleg is a durable old guy and would be a handful for arreola i suspect....although his chin is not the best he makes it up in power

Vitali has lived in LA, he has a name there and so does Arreola. Vitali figures this fight could make so real money there. Maskaev is not a money fight, but the WBC thinks Maskaev is a mandatory?! What the Hell?!

Why don't they just have Arreola vs Chambers to be WBC mandatory next, and let Vitali deal with Maskaev.

A Mexican in L.A will draw. Maybe Vitali can get all of the Sputniks from the Valley to show up as well....

Arreola is probably as good as anybody in the HW, but either Klit is gonna beat that ass.

Considering the WBA is currently playing ring around with Ruiz and Valeuv and Chagaev, Arreola is as good an opponent as any. The fight would sell out in Los Angeles and probably do decent on HBO BAD as well. Arreola is aggressive, it would be a great style matchup and a good fight while it lasted.
