'Power'- I really doubt he hits harder. Peter has not once proven power when he steped up in class. His best stoppages are a TKO over Maskaev and a Ko of Jeremy Williams, who have the worst chins around. 'Determination' & 'and it's his time'- Peter don't even look like he got in good shape for this fight. I admit Peter has more heart. Mccline ****ed him up real bad, and it was amazing that he survived the fight. All I see is heart & youth.
I have seen Peter's power many times and it is not a sheer one. He has an average power. This is not a wishful thinking. Facts just show he does not have something special powerwise. Knocking out Julius Longs like is not a sign for power. In regard of the heart I think that Peter is not so confident. Back is his mind he keeps that fact that the other brother will always be there for him. He knew he was seconds from being KOed by Wladimir. That will be a reminder for him. Any time. I guess the determination did not help Peter cutting some weight. The fact is that he has problems with weight. If you have problems with weight, what does it say about your determination? Only one thing - Peter is not ready to sacrifice. In regard of the youth, it is uclear about Peter's actual age. He looks older than Vitali to me. He could be younger. I do not know. He just looks older. It is a fact that many African sportmen fix their age in order to get better offers.
Hello Ivo!!!!!!! Great to see you again!!!!!!! Peter was stunned by one of Toney's punches in their first fight. Peter could not knock Toney out, an old fat out-of-shape middleweight. Toney did not bother to train for the rematch. Peter lost the first fight. McCline sure hurt Peter, yet Peter could not hurt McCline. Vlad stopped McCline! Vitali hits much harder than McCline, is quicker, taller, better skills, etc. Vlad had Peter on ***** street in the 12th round. Peter's best punch is to the back of the head, he will have a hard time reaching Vitali, Vitali fights tall.
Peter had WLAD running down ***** St. for 12 rounds tryin' not fall down. Just wait, you know where that back of the head punch lands on ViTKLiT.
Wlad won against McCline, correct, but Wlad and Vitali are different persons! McCline dropped Byrd in the second round of the fight, and Byrd has a very good chin. Samuel Peter is young and he is a tough fighter. He was down, okay, all boxers are human beeings. Wlad was also down in fights so what? Wlad was dropped against Samuel Peter 3 times, but he won. And so did Peter. He servived the knockdowns against McCline and won the fight. Wlad won against Peter because of his game plan, moving, grabbing, jabbing, all things Vitali will not do because his Trainer is not Emanuel Steward. Without Manny in the corner Wladimir had not won the fight against Peter. Peter is a very strong man and to win against someone that strong, you must have a plan and the tactical skills to do what you have planed before the fight. Peter is confident and shows his power when he grabs his belt.
One so-called knock down was from a punch behind the head and the other was a push, no punch at all. After that Vlad easily outboxed Peter. In the 12th Vlad should have simly finished Peter. What if McCline had trained for his fight with Peter? McCline was badly out of shape. Peter bragged about going 24 rounds with an old fat middleweight, yes, and out of shape. Vitali has not had a fight for a long time, almost four years. If Vitali is only at 50%, he will knock Peter out.
When your opponent uses the clever defense of blocking punches with the back of his head...it is not your responsibility to pull the punches... ...and what if Peter had trained for the fight...??? They each had less than two weeks to prepare for one another...with minimal sparring, and Peter had sparred to face a man his size for the most part....but you are never one to let facts get in the way. What ATGs does ViTKLiT hold victories over...that's right... yeah, yeah, yeah...if he makes it to the ring, he is 100%...and he will leave at 0%, exactly how Peter leaves him. Boxfarmer...you never fail to fail.
I completely disagree with your analysis of the Wlad/Peter fight and the variable of Manny Steward. With Fritz Sedunik, Wlad is more offensive minded and has the guts to go for the knockout within four rounds.
I'm sorry Suge, James Toney is not an all time great at Heavyweight, just at middleweight. Vitali has fought better opposition at heavyweight than Peter and Toney combined.
James Toney is an ATG, and none of these HWs can beat him except Sam Peter. Didn't you say ViTKLiT's best win was against a fat Kirk Johnson...??? ...sure, Toney or Peter have no business in the ring with a fat Kirk Johnson...:nut
