true that, but johnson was the more dangerous fight for vitali. he was fat, but he still had the speed and the power. toney, if they had fought at that time, toney wouldn't have been a big threat to vitali. the ten inch height advantage would have made it very hard for toney to land any of his counterpunches. vitali would have dominated him with his jab and probably gotten a wide ud.

There is no doubt that there are many myths about Peter. I cannot beleive how some people deny his obvious flaws. Even Maskaev's punches made him doing strange moves.

 

Is this a joke, because it is not a funny one? You better come up with something better next time.

Ross Puritty lost 11 rounds.
Chris Byrd 1, 12 rounds.
McCline 10 rounds
Sanders lost


Sdunek is not that offensive trainer. He ruins Wlad, the last fight he was the only head coach was the fight against Corrie Sanders. Horrible corner work, not advances what to do when you are hurt. Not well prepared for the fight. Sdunek was the athletic coach for the Brewster fight. It was a desaster. Puritty took all the punches Wladimir throws, and what happens? He ran out of gas because the corner told him to throw more punches instead of slow down. And than after 11 rounds Sdunek throw the towel. Peter took all the punches from Wlad, but he knows to box over 12 rounds and win the fight.

The fight against Ibragimiov, maybe it was not excited enough but he won. Ibragimov is a very good counter boxer, but Wlad learned with Emanuel not to be counterd.

Wlad was very good against Ray Mercer, but Tommy Brooks was his head coach. He was very good against Carlos Monroe II, Don Turner was the head coach.

Against good opponents you have to fight with good defense, foodwork, good jab and condition to go 12 rounds. With Emanuel in the corner, Wald had all these things, Wlad needs a good corner work during the fight and Steward gives him the right advices. And Wlad won fights by KO with Emanuel Steward in the corner. Castillo, TKO 4, Byrd TKO 7, Brock TKO 7, Austin TKO 2, Brewster TKO 6 Thompson KO 11 (great fight from Thompson, he tooks the punches very well but Wlad won by KO round 11). And these where all top 10 heavyweights or mandatories.

Wlad won olympic gold. He would be a much better boxer, if he could work with Trainers like Turner, Brooks, Roach and Steward.

Wlad had learn his lesson. You cannot win fights against well prepared boxers only with mental strength.

Samuel Peter did great against James Toney. And James Toney is an ATG Boxer.

 

Interesting to see how Vitali looks after the long layoff.

 

Poor Sammy, he got upset and had to leave. If only Peter would of brought his personal body guards on stage to this press conference, he could of prevented that.
