As the title says, to proove his abilities or expose him.

    Within his career or all-time.

For me, a Lewis rematch would actually have been nice.

All-time? I would have liked to have seen him face Lewis in a rematch too, but I do remember at the time he also liked the idea of a bout with Tyson. Then Tyson lost to Danny Williams, and Vitali was upset, saying that his dream of facing Tyson was over, so he ended up facing Williams.

At the moment, I'd want to see him face off with the winner of Chagaev-Valuev, or against Chris Arreola.

Call me a sadist, but if it was in my hands, I'd want to see Wladimir vs Vitali.

I think a Lewis rematch would have been a bad nove - simply because Lewis would have beaten him. Vitali has fought with a need to prove himself as a result of the Lewis fight and he's done well. Who knows how his career would have turned out should he have faced Lewis again and lost.

I'd have like to see him fight Brewster, Golota, Ruiz (odd choice I know), and perhaps Rahman. Right now I want tosee him fight a Chagaev or Haye.

He's the best of a bad bunch and if you're looking "all time" then his limitations would have been exposed. A prime Lewis would have whooped him good and I'm guessing a Bowe and Holyfield beat him as well. He has a good chin so I'd like to see if he could stand up to a Tyson onslaught.

I think he stops his brother after shipping some jabs.

A prime Riddick Bowe wouldve been a serious test too.

ETA. How does he compare to a prime Golota? I think I missed that fight :)

  5. Losing to Lewis in a competive fight, was the best thing that happened for Vitali..... It more or less made him a world wide name, and the fight will always get brought up as one of the finest HW bouts of all time.....

IMO if Vitali did get a rematch it would have been lose-lose for him

Win- So what he beat a shot 38 year old Lewis

Lose- Two loses to a past prime Lewis would have been a diasater for his legacy

Indeederooski. He caught Lennox at the right time and his legacy was cemented from it.

As per who I would've liked to see him fight? Realistically, I think him vs Chagaev (If Ruslan is 100%) could be a fun fight.

In one of those time machine instances, I honestly would've liked to have seen him against Holyfield from 1996, the one who handled Tyson. I think that would've been an intriguing fight.

Lewis. Vitali would have knocked Lewis out in the 7th round. Vitali staggered Lewis more than once and was leading on the cards. Lewis was in real trouble. Vitali has offered Lewis huge amounts of money, much larger payday than any in Lewis' career, but Lewis retired and will stay retired. Lewis knows that truth. In the meantime Vitali will keep knocking out the top ten.

All-time, I think a fight against Larry Holmes would have really given us an idea of how good he actually was. During his career, there really wasn't any threat outside of Lennox and his brother. Ibeabuchi might have been interesting, but that's about it.

Cosign.....as far as a Lewis rematch - had it been within six months of their first bout - what if he had won the rematch? he would have come out with confidence, redemption, and the undisputed title.....not only would he have been different, but so too would have been the heavyweight scene....minus his injuries of course
