Vitali will fight Haye in a non-title fight and then retire. Gomez will fight Maskev for the vacant WBC title, and then Wlad will unify against the winner of that fight.

thats how i see things going down.

Given how good the WBC has been to Vitali over the years...I dont see them stripping him...He keeps his belt.

It's possible. But im banking on the WBC being the scumbags that they are recognizing Vitali brings more money/recognition to the table than "DEM 2 BUMS" :yep

I predict they will grant Vitali an exemption and perhaps make gomez-maskaev an eliminator - the third for Gomez :yep

Beating McCall & Virchis shouldn't warrant a title shot anyway IMO. Beating the former champ Maskaev would hold more weight. I would expect Gomez to beat the very old & slow Oleg maybe even by TKO late in the fight. This would help sell a fight against the winner of Vitali vs. Haye.

What happened to new champs being granted the right to a voluntary defense before fighting a mandatory? Isn't that how Chagaev, Maskaev & Valuev have been able to fight such undeserving guys as Holyfield, Barrett, Beck, etc.?

at the same time $ talks and any sanctioning body would be stupid to drop a Klitschko but i don't see how the WBC has a choice if they wanna save face. I'm sure Gomez could even sue at this point

wbc wont strip vitali, they'll find something in the champion emeritus small print allowing him to keep it,ie 'champion emeritus is allowed to make a voluntary defence before having to face they're mandatory'....

I cant see Haye fighting Vitali if there is no title on the line,
    Whats the point in that?

I think that an immediate mandatory might have been a condition for Vitali to fight Peter after Gomez won his two eliminators already. It's very harsh on him not to give him his shot, even though I much more want to see the Haye fight. Why can't Vitali fight in February and June? I don't understand the far-off scheduling of the Haye fight, either for the WBC or for Haye.

Maybe they can let Gomez and Maskaev fight each other for some interim crap before Vitali faces the winner (probably Gomez).

**** Oldlegs. Seriously this guy is gaining an infamous rep. He's almost as bad as Ruiz.

Let Klitschko-Haye happen. Thats the fight we want to see!

WLAD vs. Haye is the fight to see. I'm tired of witnessing the "KLIT Flip."

Got damned bait and switch from the reigning co-champion of the world.
