That would be a more tense fight but I still think this one is a solid matchup. Moreso than watching Maskaev get bounced around the ring for a payday.

Here is my take on this. Please don´t post threads with statements like this, because it makes it look like this is a fact and not just how you think things will turn out. "I think Vitali will fight Haye in a non title fight .... " would have been a more appropriate name for this thread.

Second, I think even if beating McCall and Virchis doesn´t warrant a title shot, Gomez has been promised the shot by the organization and has won two eliminators. Hence, the organization owes it to him to give him the shot now, otherwise they are really cheating him.

Third, I think it´s kind of a shame that Maskaev is promised the shot. I don´t think he deserves it and he´s getting it because of politics.

Would Haye even want Vitali if the WBC title isnt on the line...?

Personally I dont see the WBC stripping a heavyweight cash cow like Vitali Klitschko especially when he is going to fight the most talked about challenger, Sulaiman islooking at his biggest sanctioning fee percentage in long time.

I expect a WBC interim fight to be given to Gomez.

Not in the title of the thread. When I entered this thread I was expecting something like "The WBC has ruled that Vitali Klitschko will fight David Haye in a non-title fight"

It's possible, but I see the WBC favoring Vitali and letting him fight Haye in a title fight. He may retire after that though.

    Both Klitschkos should retire now.

Sorry, I was referring to the title of the thread, which I found misleading. I did indeed read that sentence in your post.

I don't think they'll strip Vitali, and I agree they'll allow him to fight Haye for the WBC.

Cuase if they did strip Vitali, and remove their title from the mega, money making Haye Vitali showdown, then give it to Gomez whomever winner, the belt would then be almost laughed at...........it would have zero credibility...........but if Vitlai and Haye fight for it, then Gomez gets the winner, it'll have more clout than it had since Lewis had it.

Why don't they make Vitali "Super" Champion and have Maskaev-Gomez fight for the "Regular" championship. It look like the WBC wants Vitali to fight Maskaev anyway, this way they'll get a Vitali-Haye fighting the winner of Maskaev-Gomez.

The WBC is losing too much time with Vitali, he is messing up the situation for too long already. If they think he is a worthy champ then fine, but why not get some fights going? It's clear by now that Vitali wants no part of Gomez.

They could name Vitali the champ in recess, like Chagaev, or the interim champ, with the possibility of regaining his full crown till the end of 2009, and let Gomez and Maskaev fight for the main belt, or at least the interim one.

There are several ways to go, just don't let the WBC HW belt become hostage once again, like it has been for the past 2 years.

Wont happen. Gomez will fight a tune-up, but the wbc will in no way put aside the ton of cash haye-vitali will generate. After that fight, they will enforce the mandatory.

    :rofl:patsch

why would they name Vitali "champ in recess" when he has a fight scheduled just not against their crappy mandatory fighter?

They could give Gomez the "Interim" belt like they did Peter before he fought Maskaev but I doubt they will. Suliaman has done everything he could to get Vitali his belt back I doubt they will strip him.
