Congratulations to Vitali Klitschko! He put a brutal, one sided beating on Sam Peter to regain the WBC strap. Prior to the TKO ending, I had the bout scored 8-0 for "Dr. IronFist". I didn't think that Vitali looked quite as good as he did when he was the champ during 2004-05 (2003-05, if you include Vitali's moral victory over Lennox Lewis). He didn't use his right hand as often, as accurately, or with the same authority that he has in the past, for example. But still, Vitali was way too much for Peter. "Gimme my title back", says Vitali. This content is protected "Only East Europeans can be heavyweight champs!", says Vitali, who is now a champion again. This content is protected "You pissed me off MOFO, because you messed up my fight with Maskaev", Vitali says as he batters Peter. This content is protected
  Are you really this ****ing ******ed, were you deprived as oxygen during birth perhaps? Peter just got outclassed and beaten down by a far superior fighter. FACT
Peter deserved the beating he got. I remember back in the year 2000 and 2001 how a lot of people were saying the Klitschkos were Euro-stiffs who would never win legit titles at heavyweight (back then the WBO belt had less merit than it does now). Well they rank #1 and #2 at heavyweight now and hold all the heavyweight belts except the WBA. Make a bout with Valuev for either one and they´ll probably hold all the belts.
Congratulations to Vitali, he's not one to let any fan of his down. Fully deserved victory and in shocking fashion for a man that was 4 years off with serious injuries. I think it's fair to say now to the delusional ones that think he's scared of Rahman that if it wasn't for his injuries Rahman would be iced within 3 rounds AT MOST.
peter not even in the same league. without vitali, the heavyweight today division is weak! WEAK! esp when u have a 2 supermiddleweights getting bold and winning belts up there. my bad 3 (rjj, toney, and byrd)
Peter doesn't really represent what a few idiots say, I never heard him personally say anything like that or close to it.
Are you trolling? Do you forget Jameel McCline almost finishing Peter early? The same guy who had lost to Zuri Lawrence before and would go on to lose to John Ruiz. Why is it so hard to believe in Vitali putting a beating on him? Wouldn´t they also just have made it an early KO if it was fixed?
Remove Toney from that list, he never won **** with his desperate steroid use. Byrd was a middlweight as an amateur who starting his professional career as a heavyweight and stuck to it with a few movements to lower weights here and there, the guy fought guys like McCline, W.Klitschko x2, V.Klitschko, Ibeabuchi, Golota, Oquendo, Holyfield, Williamson, Povetkin, Tua, Purrity and many more, he deserves some respect for fighting top quality opponents like that and hanging in there rather than bash on the division. Muhammad Ali was an olympian light heavyweight Gold medalist who jumped to heavy as a professional, does that mean the division was **** poor when Ali fought?, hell no and not even close. RJJ just proved how special he really was and confirmed it with his domination over Ruiz, didn't prove the division was weak there just proved how good RJJ really is regardless of weight. The division right now is weak indeed and Vitali's future plans aren't mentioned yet, even when he was asked he just completely turned down the question and said "Not sure yet and I need time to think". Then he hinted that a fight with Valuev for the WBA is possible, hope it's done.
Truth be told, I didn't expect Vitali to win in such easy, one-sided fashion. He was barely hit all night.
He looked great Paul. I enjoyed that. It seemed like he never left. If anything that break recharged his batteries a bit. As I said, Vitali wouldn't have done this unless he was certain his body was all the way back.:smoke:smoke
Looking forward to watching this later. Congrats to Vitali. I figured he had a very good chance of winning, but I never imagined it would be this one-sided. Where does Peter go from here?
I hate to say it, because of his fans, but Vitali was incredible tonight. In terms of his footwork he looked a lot better than in 2004; he had more lateral footwork and he was lighter on his feet. Would he have lost to a better opponent? Yes. Am I surprised he still had enough left to beat Peter? Yes again.
