    well the way i look at vital, i just see him as a guy with physical advantages, and thats just about it. when your talking about a fantasy matchup against a monster like a prime tyson, size advantage is the last thing that should cross your mind, as he was always dwarfed throughout his career and was considered a giant killer. there are just way too many factors going against vitali when he's matched up against the likes of fighters like ali, vitali, tyson, and foreman to make people assume he wouldn't last too long against any of these guys. and i for one agree with them

    Tyson beat up guys like David Jaco and struggled with guys like James Tillis and got destroyed by guys like Buster Douglas and Danny Williams.

    I've read his critics several times before...No talent , too tall (gives him an advantage) , too slow.. one dimensional , fights like a robot etc...

    Still , whatever you guys wanna call it. ...His , magical mediocrity maybe ? :think worked pretty well for him. We're talking about a guy who's got a 90.24 % KO ratio.

    He's got physical advantage but so did Lennox right ?
    Reach = 84
    size = 6'5
    KO ratio = 72.73%

    Why is this physical advantage of his such an issue but not when we're talking about other tall fighters ? Why isn't the 7'0 tall Valuev (with a reach of 85) isn't more dominant than Vitali then ?

    Surely , there must be some sort of skills involved right ?

    when is the last time vitali put on a defensive clinic thats slightly reminiscent to even a 1975 version of ali??

    skier, going by this logic then i guess you could compare alot of fighters to ali's defensive tactics. ali's defense wasn't all about leaning back, he slipped punches and used unorthodox angles to confuse his opponets to exposing them to a brilliantly timed counter oppurtunity. vitali's defense revolves around his massive size and the type of fighters he faces. when he's facing predictable fat slobs such as arreola and sam peter, i expect his performances to be flawless. as a man his size, he fights the way he's supposed to fight and nothing more. ali went way above and beyond what any HW is supposed to do or even capable of doing.

    these are two factors that i find grossly overrated about vitali. his power is contemporary, and im not at all fooled about the "highest KO percentage". i have seen many opponents walk through vitali's punches without even budging, with the result of a doctor/corner stoppage, and thats what contributes to vitali's "highest KO percentage". as for his chin, its good but not great. as a poster in the classic section stated, vitali is a good survivor and knows how to hang on, preventing himself from getting knocked down or knocked out.

    vitali beat up fat bums such as arreola and peter and struggled greatly with a former golfer and probably the lightest hitting HW to ever step in the ring.

    Tyson built his aura of invincibility by beating up on bums with high tube socks and huge afros/mullets.

    many of his so called "KO's" have ended in doctor/corner stoppage, many of his opponents have walked through his punches without budging and decided to quit, or their cornerman doing it for them. very rarely have i seen him knock a guy out cold. well, at least not as much as tyson or foreman at least.

    well, look at the guys he has faced. fighters with iron jaws such as holyfield, tua, mercer etc. fighters with actual skills that could give anyone at any given time hell. the same cant be said about vit's comp

    well, thats definitely up to debate. valuev doesn't necesarrily come off as a natural boxer, not many men his size could really. vitali has been in the fight game for a long time, valuev is a former basketball player. vitali has the body type of a fighter, his dominance definitely derives from some of his skills and his size. but i say a good 48% of his success derives from his competition, as there are many flaws to vitali's style. its just there isn't anyone around that has, the speed, power, aggression and overall skills to overcome his shortcomings.

    Whether Vitali wins or no, he'd easily last three rounds vs. all those guys. Don't get ridiculous guys...

    Vitali was going to be fighting on the undercard, so he was in great shape - let's not make out he was sitting on his couch, unaware that he might get the call. Lewis was undertrained because he was going to be facing Kirk Johnson.

    A lot of Kudos has to go to Lennox for taking such a tough opponent in Vitali as a replacement - he could easily have postponed, or looked for another bum. But instead, the Lion took on the best challenger out there, and bust him the **** up.

    Tyson earned title shots by beating cokeheads like peter McNeeley and if Seldon hadn't been paid to take a dive he probably would've humiliated Tyson worse than an over the hill and under-prepared Holyfield did, twice, the second time so bad that Tyson has to bite his ear off to make him stop.

    vitali klitschko built his resume off beating blown up cruiserweights, far passed their prime champs (and lost), and a former golfer rocked his world. kevin johnson all though an unskilled bum, made vitali look like a limyed slugger.

    resume: tyson>>>klitschko

    H2H: tyson>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>klitschko

    Vitali Klit may goddamn well have physical advantages against his opponents, but so did "Willard & Carnera" too.......... But the difference is, Vitali Klit is 10 X the fighter than either Jesse or Primo ever hoped or dreamed of being........ Nuff said.......
