i know i am going to cop a lot of **** from the klit clan on here but was anyone else very dissapointed by vitali against johnson i felt he looked void of ideas i know johnson was not fighting but he was just lying on the ropes he did not hold like smith did against tyson to stop vitali punching .unyet vitali did not go to the body for any period of time to bring his hands down he also did not change the pattern of his attack at all and in the end i felt looked even more robotic than usual am i being to critical
No. Vitali looked terrible last night, and anyone of the top 10 Heavyweights of all time would have had Johnson out of there.
Vitali is a natural counter puncher who never looked very comfortable when forced to lead. However, he did stop a similar fighter in Larry Donald and had a great deal of success going to the body, but he was a hungry challenger desperate to land a fight against Lennox Lewis at the time. As Champion, Vitali cruised last night, happens. I will also add that I was very impressed with Johnson's punch slipping last night, and his jab was superb when he used it.
I think the cut and Johnson's counter punching limited Vitali normal aggression level. Johnson has the jab, defense, countering, and perhaps chin of a champion. Vitali did not land cleanly on him.
While I think common sense says that Vitali must be aging and yes if the money situation is set, it is definitely a good time to retire. But, i dont see how you can win every round and use it as evidence that you have become shot. I havent even heard one of the klit haters say that he lost rounds. That is as dominant as it gets.
