Sanders elbows Vitali right in the throat when he's against the ropes right before that. I'm always shocked that he managed to take that elbow right to his throat. Elbow happens right at 6:58 as Vitali boounces off the ropes [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNK1Z4xryZQ[/ame]
i am with you.....other than lewis..his chin has never been tested...maybe a few shots from corey sanders...thats it... so when i hear he has "granite chin" "all time best chin ever" is laughable... and its not vitalis fault no one can crack an egg or even gets close to hit him..its a knock against the people who praise the chin....
yea seen that..cudos for that im sure it took alot out of him..but if it conected fully.the fight would have been different imo
you cant say his chin is the greatest..but his chin has been tested and passed that test...its not as if it hes only took mediocre shots is it??but i do agree with use his chin cant be atg without having seen enough action.it can be up there tho
Vitali has ATG one of the greatest chins in history. Hist list of opponents alone confirms that: Lewis (monsterous puncher, ATG punching power) Sanders (extremely fast, VERY ACURATE and worst of all, unexpected punches (he throws them perfectly, almost imposible to see, and the punch you don't see is the punch that gets you) Samue Peter (Crude but great punching power) Brigs (great punching power) Hyde (Super fast knockout artist with very high KO percentage) Chris Areolla (fat but determined, usually knocks guys out if he tags them) ALL IN ALL, you need to be brain damaged to doubt Vitali's chin. The only men I'd rank him under are Mcall and Chuvalo.
McCall, Chavulo, maybe Ibeabucchi? Tex Cobb? Gotta like Holy too. Bowe put him down, and he had been stopped in his old age, but he took some flush shots from Foreman without going down, and fought Tyson and Lewis. Ali deserves s mention. We all know his four knockdowns, but considering that he never hit the deck against Foreman, Shaver, Lyle, Norton, and Clevland Williams, we can forgive Frazier and a flash knockdown with Chuck Wepner, and ascribe Armstong and Jones to not being fully physically developed. Just read the other day that Willard was never down before Dempsy.
I'm pretty sure that was just a rumour made up by the Maskaev camp. Maskaev claimed to have knocked him out or something. I can't see Maskaev landing a glove on Vitali to be honest
