Its not about tag teaming being permitted for anyone. It was about two men who both cleaned up the division and who no one expected to face each other because they were brothers. Had the Spinks brothers coexisted together and managed to decimate the top 10 it would have been the exact same scenario. Sometimes you have anomalies in boxing.

    you just permitted it.

how would you feel about, say, any two boxers who weren't strong enough to rule individually, doing the same? who don't have the name Klitschko.

the Spinks were not interested in tag teaming anyway.

its only an "anomaly" when its the K bros who are cheating. As its only a "win" when its a K bro who loses.

Two brothers that don't want to fight is "cheating"?

    :huh

    I don't think so

that's because you didn't think full stop.

if you'd thought then you'd have read the post, referring to cheating by tag teaming.

not cheating by not facing each other, your ownrubbish presumption.

He doesn't get it and I'm not going to waste anymore time trying to explain it to him. He's all yours.

Again, according to reports, it was the ringside doctor who pursuaded Vitali to quit, as he quickly diagnosed that it was a torn rotator cuff. Again, if reports of an operation after the fight are correct, then nobody should have an issue.

:patschWell, wouldn't you think that an injury as suffered by VK is quite distinct from taking those bombs from LL? Two different categories, I'd say.

nice of you to give your friend a free pass to completely avoid the actual argument in hand, the one you just pretended didn't exist too.

awesome kliturd strategy - if its a threat to you, you pretend its not happening.

The "title reign" is a good phrase because quitali never was undisputed champion.

I don't think the "tag teaming" really applies much anyway, at least not during Wlad's reign as the #1 HW for the past 8-9 years. Earlier in their careers, they would avenge each other's losses, and it does nothing for each man's individual legacy to not avenge a defeat. "Oh my brother beat him for me" doesn't cut it.

But in terms of 2008-on when Vitali had the WBC belt, which top guys did he beat that would have done a lot for Wlad's legacy? Wlad was the one unifying, defeating the other top HWs (other than his brother), cleaning out the division.

Vitali was just a belt holder beating mediocre opposition. His presence didn't hurt Wlad's legacy because it's not like he was beating top threats of Wlad.

Yeah, that, just there, made too much sense. It's logical, so you may have to repeat it a few times for it to sink in ;)
