Now I know Manny Pacquaio's fans can be delusional, but I think Vitali's "fanbase:roll: " takes the cake....

This guys hasn't fought in 4 freaking years, yet the majority of people of this "board:roll: " are actually picking him to beat Sam Peter....This guy cant' even complete a ****ing training camp, yet he's going to defeat top notch competition in his first fight back...........ahhhhhhhhhh yeah

Now I don't think Sam Peter is going to the HOF anytime soon, but he is probably the hardest puncher in the division, dropped his brother, who is considered the best heavyweight, 3 TIMES, and is generally considered in the upper echelon of the division...

Folks, stop using emotions or nationality affiliation when discussing fights...Geesh, some of the posters on here act like "little girlies, total stans/groupies........:verysad

Lennox Lewis fans are 11x worse. You'd think Lewis was a superhero.

I'm not a huge Vitali fan, and I'm favoring Peter to beat him, but that doesn't mean that people aren't entitled to chearing for who they wan't to. If people are pulling for Vitali to win, then let them.

    totally 100% agree with you.

peter will smash him providing training camp doesn't first.

it ain't 2004 anymore. i am at a loss to explain what makes people think vitali can just jump back into that ring and regain his form straight away.

I have to agree - Vitali was tough, but his ability is an unknown at this point and Peter is real fired up......then again, he is so tall that maybe he can avoid peter's stuff and win a decision.

his ability is unknown but assuming that he might get himself in good enough shape to bet Peter does not make his fans delusional.

imo if he has a good injury free training camp (big if) then he has a very good shot

now i am not a huge lewis fan and always rooted against him when he was active; however, he fought everybody, and always rematched his losses. he was a legitimately great champion and a hall of famer. the respect he gets is due him...

A man like Vitali will always have a puncher's chance, but I'm not sure that I'd favor him based on this alone. Sure, crazier things have happened in over a hundred years in the sport, than a former champion coming out of retirement to win a title, but Peter needs to be a big favorite here.

Surley though , if ( i know thats a big IF ) Vitali can complete a training camp , with good sparring and gets him self in good condition , Vitali becomes a serious threat to Peter. In my opinion , Vitali in good condition can win this fight.

The betting odds on Peter vs Vitali will be interesting. I think Vitlai will be a slight betting favorite. If not for the injuries and in-activity, Vitlai would be a clear favorite.

Vitlai can easily out box Peter, hurt him, and takes a heck of a punch himself. For the most part, Peter is not the type to start fast or get mid to late round TKO's vs quality opponets.

Peter’s foul rabbit punch tactics might not even work. Vitlai is 6’7”, fights tall and can keep his distance. How is Peter going to land his foul punch?

Possibly, but numerous former champions have gotten themselves back into great shape and looked good in sparring, and yet it did not diminish the effects of old age, or years of not engaging in actual combat. Sure, a man with Vitali's size and power will always have a puncher's chance, but also keep in mind that he's not fighting someone with a glass chin either.

Yea, really. A fighter's fans rooting for him and hoping he succeeds? Seriously, what the hell is wrong with these people?

    ..........just wait and see.
