There was some talk a while back about Vitali using steroids back in the 90's, which makes me inclined to thinking that it may have something to do with his body not holding up anymore. Sure, when a person is using steroids, it helps the body to recover faster, but sometimes long term use, can have the opposite effect.

Vitali can lose a step and still be a step faster than Peter.

Peter's only chance would be to swing for the heavens and hope to land a lucky punch.

You guys talk about injuries ... they can heal with time ... but you can't lose your entagables ... your natural gifts ...

Thats the edge that Vitali has ... as long as he can stand and fight then he will win.

You have a good point, but let's face it. The man's hardly invincible. He wasn't even unbeatable in his prime, though I know there were reasons for those losses but still. He is a highly injury prone athlete and worse, is now in his late 30's and coming off a 4 year layoff with no tuneups to scrape off the rust. No one here is claiming that Sam Peter is a great fighter, I certainly don't think that he is, but at this point, lesser fighters would have a fair crack at beating Vitali.

That a was pure fanboy comment if I ever heard one. He stands and can't get through camp, but if he stands he's beating Peter.

For an example of objective posting check the "Who beats Wlad thread." I picked WLAD over Haye.

A couple people around here will say I'm a hater. It however appears LOVE of a fighter, is much more blinding, than "suppposed hate."

Vitali admitted to the board before testing at the Olympics, that his doctor had prescribed him a steroid for his recovery from an injury. He wasn't allowed competing in the Olympics due to that. However, he had never tested positive for steroids before or after that. He wasn't abusing performance enhancers... he had a medical steroid prescribed for his injury.... which is very common.

If Vitali was always abusing steroids... he would have just continued to mask them, or flush them out before the testing. He wouldn't have told them about it.

No problem with the first part of your post...but if you've ever been around anyone who has used an illegal substance (I understand you speak of a prescribed instance), often times they will come clean about past use...never mind the present, or future use.

Sorry, but addmission of a past occurence, does not mean you wouldn't have said anything if you plan to continue using. That said, I'm not very well informed on VITKLIT's roid issues (as you actually appear to be) and find no cause to argue, other than your assumption at the end there.

Holyfield never admitted to using roids or any controlled substance but rumor has it, he was receiving human growth hormone under the alias Evan Fields.

I'm not saying you're a hater and I could agree that I made a fanboy comment, but at the same time if you wouldve quoted my whole post you wouldve seen that I explained why I thought that.

Yeah Peter has a chance, but his chances aren't greater than a healthy standing Vitali.

I can't see Vitali getting taken out by a guy who isn't proven and hasn't shown good boxing ability.

Yeah, and he has and excuse for the whole Evan Fields thing. James Toney says his were legit. Of course Widdow, saying that VITKLIT was prescribed his.

It looks like this is going to be a continuing issue in boxing. But congress is looking at baseball.

If you hit the ball lout of the park, nobody gets hurt. A seriously roided HW punch, if landed can potentialy kill a fighter.

EDIT: You know, at least boxers aren't snitches though, like those ball players ratting all of their colleagues out.

Boxing is a little harder to regulate I think. It's an international sport, and its participants are all over the world. Every country has different stipulations, and I don't even know what the drug test perameters are in some regions. Not to mention, look at some of the shady figures or factions who govern the game.

If someone used ... the truth will come out rather they admit it or get caught up.

There is no longevity in cheating and it won't make you a better boxer - and if you can't box - you soon will be exposed.

Didn't really read the thread.. Just responding to the title. I don't mind manny Pacquiao fans at all. But the worst fans in the world are OFFICIALLY David Haye's. According to them He can beat a prime Roy Jones James Toney Ali etc etc etc.....
