Right before the fight with Helenius, but yes :deal

A guy who had only been stopped once in 43 defeats (Currently 49 defeats) too

Respect to Ziausys, he's a tough mofo who never gives up. Chisora clearly won every round against him though, Stiverne didn't just fail to stop Herring but lost a few rounds against him.

Stiverne is clueless once he figures out that he can't hurt a guy.

All he is is POWERFUL, but if a fighter survives his onslaughts he can't break them down.

Saying that if he fought Vitali the fight would be very interesting in the first 4 rounds, but I'd favour VK to take him into deep waters down the stretch and TKO him late or win a reasonable points decision.

whatever dude, i was talking about Mercer and no one else....slice that crap up however you want and pick out the one good thing about it, the name MERCER. It was a good name/scalp, a good stay busy fight thats it. 41? 42,43 all i remember was he was an old, balding, fat guy that looked like mercer that night.

when this fight is in 2002 and Mercers best wins were in

his wins against D- level from 1996,1997,1998,1999,2000,2001,2002
    troy weida
    brian scott
    don steele
    jeff pegues
    jimmy haynes
    leo loiacono

so how you can look at all that and think think it was a anything other than a good heavyweight win. thats why the WBO was even held to zero credit even in 2002... Mercer getting a shot? come on man...

I'd rather Stiverne fight Wladimir. or even better, another contender because who really wants to see wladimir 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-2 his ass and clinch him to death.

thats the prob today....its just acceptable do do the minimum ...Stiverne is obviously a decent heavyweight..but show that last fight to a room full of sports reporters and say "he is the number 1 heavyweight contender" according to the WBC and they will dig up their boxing jokes again and say thats why they dont even cover the sport.

Using a win over Ray Austin to validate Stiverne is silly.

Ray Austin only challenged for world title once, not twice....was annihilated in 2 rounds with only the left hand of Wladimir Klitschko (maybe the worst mandatory challenger in recent HW times), Golota was injured, Williamson is crap (he was coming off a brutal KTFO against Kali Meehan), he DREW with Donald and Whitaker, not wins, only managed a draw against Zuri Lawrence, and before the Stiverne fight he stunk up the joint against a lazy ass Solis.

Austin was outboxing him most of the fight. So there goes your solid defense claim. He's a plodder with a big right hand, that's it.

It's the story of Vitali's career. Just try writing his five best wins, and then sit back and have a laugh.

Probably something like that. Doesn't look to shabby at all.
