So being fatigued is the same as being hurt. Gotcha! You only mention the uppercut. Lewis hit him with more than that. Morrison fight? Lewis was 255 against Klit and 239 against Tommy. He didnt lean on Morrison like he did on Klit. Klit was 25 was heavier than Tommy. Of course hed look more fatigue. Cardio is a thing. And being 250 is harder than being 225. Both Lewis and Klit looked tired. Both were hurt. Lewis dropped like a sack of potatoes after the 6th round. Second wind lol. Even he lol when he said that. Lewis had a huge cut on his nose. His cheekbones were beyond swollen. Klit had the huge cuts. Both beat each other down. Lewis also kept rubbing those cuts with his head, his braids. Since when do we as boxing fans put this much stock on cuts and bruises? Should the fight have been stopped? Yeah. Normally we want s rematch after. Specially cause Klit looked superior. Lewis fans just say cuts, cuts, cuts, cuts. We know Lewis said no the a career payday. He retired after bragging hed destroy Klit again. He talked mad **** for months before retiring. He was scared. Maybe seeing Klit with his face hanging off and still coming to destroyhim scared him. Lewis and Klit to me are the H2H goats. As a boxing fan I feel robbed a rematch never happened. Would have been the greatest HW fight ever. IMO
Philly, I'm quoting what several fighters said. Not just one man's opinion, but several on the receiving end of the punch measured vs. the rest they fought. How is this wrong? It's not. In terms of what a few ill-informed people say here, I shoot down their garbage. It's really not that hard. I think we need to separate facts from opinion. For example, when one poster only said Vitali was only hit hard by Lewis, he was wrong. An opinion would say you thinking Frazier could be rated as high as 6th all time, which to me is far fetched. He's 1-4 vs the best he fought, and on a ten point must system drew on my card vs. Oscar B floored twice and by his own admission very close to a stoppage loss. An opinion by me is Frazier didn't have a good chin. A fact would be the best puncher he fought bounced him around as if he was dribbling a basketball, and the 2nd best puncher he fought floored him twice. Others who didn't land much stunned or buckled his knees. Films show us this. A fact would be Frazier didn't face many punchers outside of Foreman. Shavers, Lyle, Norton, and Martin, and do not appear on his resume. An opinion would be how he would do vs them. Even our thumbs up from Mcvey agrees with me on the last sentence.
Suggeri even. But no he was a long way from being the best puncher in the history of the heavyweights
Glass City Cobra 2 years makes a difference, and as you know power is the last thing to go. If you watch the fight, Vitali moves Brigs around when he was heavier mind you than Forman did when he was lighter. Wait a minute. One guy landed more the other threw more. This sounds like a close fight to me. Also, please do not Cherry pick your data! Read the below: Foreman - 284/484 (59%) ~ 157 jabs landed, 127 power landed. Briggs - 223/494 (45%) ~ 57 jabs landed, 166 power landed. Hmmm...Briggs landed more power punches. Again, if one guy lands more jabs, and the other lands more power punches, it can be tough to score. I think Foreman edged it, but we are not talking about who won, rather who Briggs said hit him the hardest. Foreman IMO was lucky on the cards vs Schultz, and Stewart. Yes, Briggs gained a lot of bulk in his mid 30's. He took flush shots from Ibragimov, who can punch, but in his youth, Ko'd early by Darroll Wilson at age 24. So there's your example. His took a better shot in his later years. I've meet Briggs, the dude bigger than football players. I already said I think an 80's Tyson hit harder, but Tyson in the 90s or 00's hit very hard too, especially early before he gassed. You might misunderstand me, I don't think Vitali hit as hard as at least 12 other fighters I can name, but he certainly could it. Omitting data that Vitali fought at a very old age and had an injured shoulder are we? Danny Williams made the statement after the fight with Tyson. If you are saying Tyson didn't hit hard as an older fighter, should the same apply to Vitali who fought to an even older age? You can't mix apples and oranges, and cherry pick you way around the topic. As stated Universum said Vitali hit harder than Wlad pre-injuries. As we know Power and KO percentage can be tied to class. Clark Stopped ZERO men in the top ten. Vitali stopped several. Why even use Clark's name? Okay, get ready to learn something. Vitali fought two blown up curser weights in Norris and Hide. They lasted a combined 3 rounds. Do you really think Vitali would not stop the cursers of his time easier? Come on. And as a boxer, you should know darn well glove high matters. Put lighter gloves on Vitlai, and his hits harder. Simple someone stuff. If you agree he didn't fully commit to his punches, how can you say the above??. I'd say the fact that he hurt people as easily as he did without fully committing to them shows his power! Also, you should see this Ko's over Mahone, Johnson, Sosnoswki, and others before saying he does not have highlight reel KO's.
so even with crap cardio he beat prime vitali, ok. He chose to do it the quick way rather than go 12 rounds, due to not being tiptop shape, well said. So prime Vitali against WORST SHAPE LEWIS, as you infer, was stopped faster than bruno and co. He was basically stopped as quick as the guys that Lewis fought on his way up as a prospect.
quite right Mendy. Foreman had all his power at age 48 and 315 days, but lost it all 11 months later. He DIDNT LOSE ANY POWER IN THE PREVIOUS 20 years. ahahaha! Are you seriously writing this? yeh against journeyman Chisora and sub-journeyman Charr. He didnt stop them by KO. What are you trying to prove here? nothing as usual. chris byrd agrees.
Lennox retired after claiming hed fight for many, many more years. He retired after promising to rematch Vitali. He said no to a 20 million paycheck. You think Vitali cared he had suffered cuts? Dude wanted the rematch badly. Lewis was scared.
Vitlai? Cursers ? Mahone,Johnson,Sosnowski? If they are your highlight reel, that speaks volumes for the quality of your opposition!
actually it was you who inferred 37 was the right time to walk away, I only agreed with you. If you want argue with yourself, feel free. bit odd though.
Both Norris and Hide pulled farcical quit jobs. Those guys weren't known for having a lot of heart. Go watch their other fights and learn something. Watch Hide's fight with Joseph Chingangu right after he pulled a quit job against Vitali. Joseph Chingangu put Hide down in round one and flattened him out for the count in round two. Hide easily outboxed Vitali in the first round before he QUIT in the second. Hide wasn't floored with punches from Vitali like he was from Joseph Chingangu. It was Joseph Chingangu's power that stopped Hide , whereas Vitali got a quit job victory over Hide like Tyson did against McNeely. If you really want to see how light Vitali hit , watch his loss against Chris Byrd. Byrd literally laughed at his best shots , and Vitali had 7-8 rounds throwing his best shots before his injury came late in the fight. A conditioned Byrd with a training camp couldn't handle Ike's power more than 5 rounds. So think that about that. An unconditioned , blown up LHW Byrd who took the fight on a weeks notice and weighed 209 pounds , literally laughed at Vitali's power like they were girly slaps.
Neither Kirk or Kevin Jonnson was close to cruiserweights. Ed Mahone was 229 pounds. I know, let's facts often get in the way of your pitiful agenda. Would you rather Vitali face the cruisers Jack Dempsey fought and lost to?
Vitali is a clubbing puncher not a ko puncher. Quality of opposition and other factors need to be taken into account. Holmes had a top shelf % but was never close to being a puncher. His (mostly accumulation) stoppages came thru workrate, class differentials and stamina etc. Vitali shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as guys like Tyson, Zarate and "McCleallan" as a puncher.
Stop it. Lewis said on air and through the press that he wanted a re-match. He tried to make fights with Roy Jones and Kirk Johnson instead. When the WBC ordered the re-match, lewis shut his mouth and ran, quickly retiring. He wanted no part of Vitali in the re-match,.
Did I ,anywhere in my post. mention the word cruiserweight? I just remarked on the quality of the names you posted ,and on the new words you have invented.lol On the Relaxant again?lol
