Marciano beat some of the greatest fighters to ever live. p4p ATGs

Vit losing to Lewis would of been like Rock losing to Joe Louis.

Rocks record blows Vitalis away. Rock would not quit when he had half his face ripped off and won by stoppage.

The fact that these ******s would compare Vitali's opponents to Marciano's opponents shows how much this forum has degenerated.

Joe Walcott and Archie Moore were reigning undisputed champions when Marciano brutally knocked them out.

Ezzard Charles, the best LHW of all time and one of the top 10 HWs of all time, was 33 years old when Marciano beat him.

Rex Layne, Roland LaStarza and Joe Louis were all betting favorites over Marciano when he beat them.

These guys were all serious fighters, and in great shape.

Compare to Chris Arreola, Corrie Sanders, Sam Peter and Manuel Charr, a bunch of fat plodders just there for a quick payday. Ridiculous.

Marciano beat washed up greats, Lewis was the TOP DOG when Vitali fought him.... Louis was badly faded when Marciano beat him, how can you say that Marciano losing that fight is even comparable to Vitali losing to Lennox? Unlike Louis, Lennox was still top dog and the lineal belt holder at the time... You're just a blind hater...

Well, if you could read between the lines you might understand what I was trying to say.... Marciano is regarded by many as having a weak resume, against mostly faded fighters and also fighting in a weak era. I wasn't necessarily saying that Vitalis resume per se, but that criticism towards him was similar to the kind Marciano received.... Like Marciano, I hope Vitali gets the respect he deserves down the line....

Lewis was inactive, old and fought Vitali without preparation. Louis was on a win streak and beat top contender at the time - Savold. He wasn't his best but thats not the point. Rock ran through him.
He didn't lose to the shot version of the previous era's champ like Vitali did.
Then you have wins over greats like Walcott, Charles , Moore and a talented and savvy pure boxer like LaStarza. And you claim that a rubbish record?
Who the fuk did Vitali ever beat. NOBODY. nOT EVEN A HALL OF FAMER.

Lewis was training for Kirk Johnson..... But he wasn't prepared? Vitali on the other hand was supposed to fight on the under card in a stay busy fight, if anything he wasn't prepared... What would have happened if Vitali had a full camp, and actually trained specifically for Lennox? How many of the "greats" on Marcianos record were on top of their game, and not over the hill? Again, not a fault of Marcianos, but it's a fact that many of his best wins were over FADED but not shot fighters.

I always find it funny how every heavyweight contender today is somehow considered worthless, but the ones from the past were all good.... Like I said, Vitalis resume leaves much to be desired but it's no fault of his own... He has beaten many top contenders and even former titlists, but no ATGS.... So when all is said and done, he'll be remembered as 3x world champion who made 10 title defenses. Really, all that matters is how he performed in HIS era, that concept is really abstract for some people I guess....

You're really saying that Kirk Johnson and Vitali Klitschko fight anything alike. Are you stupid?

Walcott was at the top of his game going into the fight and said he'd retire if he couldn't beat a bum like Rock.
He schooled him for the majority of the fight and Rocky like a true champion came back from miles behind to win by KO.

Vitals 'stats' are meaningless. Okkte can claim better 'stats'. Vitali hasn't the career defining moments or wins to propel him into Marciano legendary territory.

Also dont forget Chisora was a 275 lbs sack of lard when he lost to Fury and in the best shape of his career vs. Vitali. Oh wait that does not fit your theory now does it

I think theres a definte Jekyll and hyde thing with vitali, when he was young and fearless like all Lewis's other challengers such as Rahman et all, he was definitely on the road to greatness.
He really got into the ring with an atg, more than Wlad ever did or will do, despite getting his face ripped apart in the process, he still turned up and tried.

Its clear that young Vits hadthe makings of a real contender and even a true champion one day.

but along the road he somehow lost his mojo, morphing into a superHW who ran in fear from an ex-MW and faced multiple fatboys like his bro did.

I think if he'd retained his fearlessness as a youth, then he'd definitely have turned out different, a history maker rather than a piece of debris in boxing history.

Conclusion: Vitali ducked all the most talented contenders in his division. There WERE good fighters out there, but Vitali didn't fight them.

Twice Vitali accepted to fight the best at HW. First he fought Chris Byrd, and was rope-a-doped into submission. His handlers immediately realised Vitali had no skills, and kept him away from any real competition (including a rematch with Byrd, who offered Vitali a rematch "anywhere, any time, any how").

That is, until Lennox offered him a fight (Emanuel Steward, who knew boxing, wanted no part of Vlad). Vitali's handlers could not refuse a shot at the title of a fat, fading "champion" (who was ducking Chris Byrd and Vladimir Klitschko). Vitali lost this fight by bad luck - he fought better. Lennox, a paper champion, retired.

The best contenders of the era largely went to Vlad. Alexander Povetkin, David Haye, Chris Byrd, Eddie Chambers, Ruslan Chagaev, Tony Thompson, etc. Why did Vitali not fight these guys? Answer: because they are not slow fat plodders. They have boxing skills and speed.

Fanboys like dreaming about their gay hero Vitali being an ATG heavyweight champion (basing their theory on "defenses" of a paper title).

Dino Velvet is a logical, realistic person who considers resume and actual accomplishments when judging a fighter. Please don't ban him for that.:deal
