Vitali's resume is packed to the brim with Baldomir-level opponents

Carlos Baldomir was a journeyman, he had an exceptional run late on in his career, and met Floyd Mayweather, who beat him easily for 12 rounds and shut him out, he had a brief rocky-esque story, but he was nothing special, gutsy, but a completely average fighter.

Now fortunately, Floyd bas beaten much much better opposition than Baldomir. Vitali however, has fought this comparitie level of competition again and again, and again, and again

He has only ever fought 2 opponents that were above C+ level, and he lost to both, debate why it happened till the cows came home, but its the truth, and one of those at the time was still nearing 40.

A prematurely stopped farcical fight against never-will-be Manuel Charr was a fitting end to a career spent fighting the weakest opposition of a weak era. (While his brother fought the strongest opposition of a weak era)

He can only fight what's infront of him yes, but let's not get carried away with this 'has he ever lost a round or been down' stuff, because not many heavyweights would see the canvas or lose rounds against his level of opposition.

If he'd ever beat a fighter I liked or thought was reasonably decent I'd be butthurt, but as it stands neither is the case.

It's appropriate that your avatar is essentially a goatse reference.

It's like a rorschach test. If you see goatse then it's probably deeply ingrained in your pysche.

Please do reply, so you can make some other worrying reference to male-on-male anal.

When Floyd fought Baldomir he had 9 losses on his record. The only fighter in the '00s and '10s Vitali fought with as many as 9 losses was Ross Purrity. You have to go back to 98 to find the next one. In fact, in the 11 fights he had since coming back his opponents had a combined 12 losses between them- 5 of which were Briggs'. Vitali's opponents were usually far above the level of Baldomir- although to be fair to Floyd, Baldomir was on a good run at the time

Who has Vitali avoided in his career that would of added to his legacy?

This is true, but then I distinctly made the point that it was Baldomir's level (i.e. average) rather than the amount of losses. And pretty much every fighter on Vitali's resume is average.

I never maintained (or claimed) that he avoided anyone.

    However

Hasim Rahman (at that point he would have been the best opponent bar Lewis/Byrd Vitali had fought)
    Nikolai Valuev
    Eddie Chambers
    Chris Byrd

Any of these would have represented a more solid win than probably anything he has on his resume.

When he captured the title, Holyfield, Tua, Grant, Golota were all still active and in good shape...

He has had the opportunity to get one, good solid HOF win under his belt instead of just good performances against hofers (something lots of other people manage). Whether he ducked people or not isn't the issue

The issue is he doesn't have a top level win and not really anything too close to it :conf

All his title defences were shocking, especially for a self proclaimed "proud man". This is not being butthurt, its the truth.
