That's not a valid argument as long as Louis, Holmes, Dempsey, Johnson & Marciano and many others get a pass for fighting in very weak eras themselves.

Let's not pretend that every era was as diverse as the 70's.........

Since he's come back his resume is actually quite respectable especially if you factor in how badly he dominated all this opposition. He only lost between 3-6 rounds in fighting all these guys at age 38-40.

    Peter
    Juan Carlos Gomez
    Arreola
    Johnson
    Briggs
    Solis
    Adamek
    Chisora

I know at that age its pretty good resume i feel we cant and he cant as fans expect the era's to always be like the 70's.

Depending on one's agenda and bias, I've seen virtually every era with the exception of the 1970s categorized as weak at one point or another. Ali's resume is most untouchable, although even then the Liston bouts remain controversial, he lost to the best version of Joe and arguably dropped 2 of 3 to Norton. Then theres the premature stoppage against Lyle (who was up) and another squeaky against Young.

Resume is rarely a Heavyweight strong suit. Its about ability and dominance, as there is no weight divisions to jump to seek out higher level of opposition and stack a resume. No weight class garners more divisional debate for the simple fact that they should be separated and rarely stand on chance on the imaginary pound for pound pedestal. Theyre already at the top of the heap.

Yep. Lost to the two best fighters he faced. Has beaten only one Ring ranked #1 fighter. Lives in the shadow of his brother. He'll make the HOF though, but he'll never be a top 20 all time great.
