Anybody agree he should have stayed on and taken care of Wilder? It's annoying to see that bum with Vitali's belt.:verysad

His body said no too often.

Vitali had his time. New era, new participants.

He should have stayed on and fought Haye, but he ducked him.

Yeah, he was getting old. Frankly I'm surprised that he managed to do what he did at that age. Most boxers are shot at 36.

I don't think he'd be able to even if he had stuck around. He was starting to show mass signs of deterioration in his last few fights and that was as far back as 2011-2012. If he were still around he'd be around 45 years old and that's assuming that no one beat him first in the past 3-4 years

Come again? Haye backed out of a signed contract to fight Vitali.

Haye would be too scared in this fight vs Vitali, who was far more engaging than Wlad, and taken out.

I happen to think that Vitali with 3 months in the gym would beat at least two of the three belt holders.

The sad fact is there is at least two fighters without belts ( Ortiz and Povetkin ) that would beat anyone with them.

He was slowing up and arm punching at the end but I posit he'd be as good if not better than Foreman in 94, if he came back, and would dethrone the current fraud. He'd take the age record also.

The same Vitali that told Haye to beat Chisora?

The same Vitali that went 12 rounds with Chisora, yet got bingo'd in 5 by Haye?

The same Vitali that denied David a shot AFTER Haye bingo'd Chisora?

Vitali was injured in that fight but easily defeated Chisora at 40 years old!

Its a well know fact that Haye has testicles the size of jelly beans. He was afraid to engage vs Valuev until the very last round, and essentially withdrew from the fight vs Wlad.

Vitali forces the action, and would take him out, which is why Haye pulled out of that fight!

Tbf at the time Vitali retired he would have been an underdog to Haye.

Because of Chisora? He fought most of that fight with torn shoulder ligaments and still won by several rounds. Haye would have been a competitive fight but it's not my point as Haye would beat Wilder also. I'm talking about Vitali pressing the emeritus button and beating Wilder for the age record. Haye has nothing to do with it.

Vitali was declining and was smart enough to know it .He had a good career, no sense getting beat by men he would have beaten a few years ago.

Povetkin probably, Ortiz no way, he is too slow, and not in top shape.
