Stiverne has a bad resume but it is still better than Wellivers

Better names on Stivernes resume that he has beaten:
    Austin
    Robert Hawkins
    Franklin Lawrence

In actual head to head matchup I dont know who would win to be honest...I could see Welliver outboxing Stiverne with Stiverne's only chance coming via come from behind KO

Or maybe Welliver outboxes Stiverne with no hail mary KO by Stiverne

    who knows?

I'm not sure the trio of Lawrence/Hawkins/washed up old Austin really outrank a top three of Calloway/Mensah/washed up old Cooper.

I guess Lawrence and Hawkins are bigger, "truer" heavies than Calloway and Mensah (who've both competed at cruiser) but I'm still not sure they're all that much better.

if welliver fights the 47 year old McCall next we will have to lean toward him for sure having the better resume because that will be better than Stivernes 41 year old Ray Austin
but in the overall pic of who you want to fight one of the true champions next, the resumes are both lacking some substance and that being top 10 live bodies

It has to do with you mentioning that he's inferior to Welliver in every way. He can't be inferior in every way if his resume is better and he has better power, two aspects where he's already superior, can he? I would like to hear what qualities make you think that Welliver is better than Stiverne, too.

They're of a similar skill level apparently, only Stiverne actually has power and has fought better competition. Welliver looks the same against worse competition, whcih leads me to believe he's worse.

Ray Austin, as you've mentioned, is better than any win if Welliver's. Manswell may be awful but he's actually a HW and was undefeated at the time, that's quite better than Moyoyo (who?) Mensah or shot Rob Calloway who had been brutally stopped several times. Which former contenders has Welliver beat exactly, apart from the corpse of Bert Cooper? I'd like to hear who in Welliver's win list is as good as Ray Austin, actually.

I boxrec'd Stiverne's 4/14 opponent Willie Herring. He is the only man to beat Troy Ross other than Steve Cunningham, Herring holding a 2005 SD 8 victory over Ross.

Another thing: Herring is scheduled to fight on 4/21 as will in Indiana...

Also, I'd vote for Stiverne as a slightly better opponent for a Klitschko than Welliver. Just by the tiniest bit.

Bermane Stiverne has a puncher's chance that's for sure.

Stiverne hype is roflsome stuff. Anyone who's seen him fight and hypes him anyway has to be having a laugh, or is totally disingenuous.

The current version of Lawrence is a top 30 HW without doubt. Ok Stiverne's win over him was when he was young and it was a bit flukey, but Stiverne's win over Austin is far more impressive than anything Welliver has done. Yes, the Austin fight was close until the KO but so was Welliver's fight against Mensah, and Austin is a far better fighter than Mensah (and naturally much bigger).

As for Manswell, he's not very good but I'm not entirely convinced Welliver would have it all his own way against him.

Austin is way better than anything Welliver has done. You think Mensah, Coopers corpse and Tausai are better than any of that? Manswell-Mensah may be close though :think And as ZXVCBM the Mensah fight was close. I take either of a close fight with Austin instead.

And you call Austin washed up? Same guy who everyone not named Wlad have had troubles with? What exactly is Cooper then if Austin is washed up?

Chuancey is self promoted damned near. There isn't exactly a line of pretenders kicking down his door for a fight. He can generate some money in China, but it seems it may be too little too late.
He's tried for the past few yrs to get some bigger name in the ring. Successful or not, he's not been able to generate the money to get guys like Monsour, Arreola, or Austin in the ring to prove he has what it takes to get that mandatory spot. But we can't say it's for lack of effort. He's lining up dates the day after, and in some cases weeks before his scheduled bout, and defends his 40 titles on every continent against any and all comers. :think

Stivernes got good power. Like someone else said, he has a punchers chance against most top contenders. And that's a good attribute in this shitty division.

I like Stiverne. Good Punch, nice skills and he is in shape. A fight against old Vitali would be very interesting.
