FOr anyone to try and say that the LEwis fight was "stopped on a technicality" as somebody said earlier, or that it wasn't a genuine TKO as a result of being punched, is delusional.

It wasn't an "injury", unless "injuries" are caused by being repeatedly punched in the face. In which case, aren't all stoppages due to injury??

 

I wonder which body part Brittley will injure this time when he pulls out.

 

It's not fair to the lower ranked guy of Gomez and Virchis to go through all that training, mentally and physically preparing for a bout, and then having to sit at the arena and watch a fight instead of actually fight and try to improve his position among the HWs.

It would also be unfair to either Gomez and Virchis to prepare stylisticall to fight each other and then have to fight Peter instead, and unfair to Peter to prepare for a fight of Brittley's style to then have to fight either Gomez or Virchis.

 

But is that really Vitali's fault or the WBC Sanction commitee? They did give him that champion emeritus thing. I can understand where it may seem unfair to other fighters, but it would look bad for the sanctioning body to not keep their promise.

 

Not just the mental and physical strength. I'm sure you can attest to this that Sam Peter takes a much better shot than Danny Williams. And probably gives a better shot too. Imagine if Vitlay hurt his hand hitting Williams what is gonna happen when he tries to crack Sam Peter. His hand will shatter most likely.

I don't like the emeritius bullshitus status either. Infact I think it's all karma that is now going to bite Vitlay right in his ass. That he waited all this time for someone he thought would be an easy mark, which ends up being the toughest mark of them all.

 

Please provide any quotes, or interview footage, actions, or anything, that causes you to believe that Vitali sees Peter as an easy mark.

Please provide any quotes, or interview footage, actions, or anything, that causes you to believe that Vitali has recovered, like he says has before every fight...and that he will actually make it to the contest, after failing to appear in his previous 5 scheduled bouts (most of which were WBC Title matches).

 

The interview I read a while back, where he stated he has healed, and has reported to be fully recovered and feeling great. He had been training and if I recall correctly, was fully prepared, trained, and ready to fight on March 8th, but obviously wasn't needed.

So there you go.

Now please provide information I requested that leads one to conclude that Vitali sees Peter as an easy mark.

I don't know why people bag on him over the Chris Byrd fight...he was beating Chris silly and was well on his way to winning the fight until he tore his rotator cuff and decided he couldn't continue anymore. BUT he was never in any serious trouble at all due to Byrd in the fight.

The Lewis fight is completely different and I can accept Lennox getting the TKO win though he was in trouble. Still I wonder why fights like that one got stopped when you have fights like Katsidis-Amonsot one where Katsidis was cut and bleeding all over the place and allowed to go on.

 

If he was ready for march 8 I wonder why its expected to take a long time considering we know Vitali will have first crack at Peter. I read something about it being slated for the fall.

Vitali always says that, and furthermore, you cited nothing. I was looking for something along the lines of...

"Yes, I always say I'm healed, but I mean it this time..." Or, "Yes I know I said I would appear these five previous time...but now I really mean it, not that I didn't before..."

No, it'll happen within 120 days. On a site that talks about boxing, a new Dino Duva interview says they are going for June or July.

This fight will not take long. :good I think VK is healed and ready, and Peter is obviously overflowing with confidence, now.

But it'll obviously take a few months for Peter to rest, then get ready for another fight, regardless of if he says tomorrow to the press, or not.

 

Lets review the timeline here.

Rappaport immediately tries to secure a date between Waldo and Oleg Maskaev. In an attempt to block the mandatory Samuel Peter.

It falls apart.

Rappaport then turns to Vitlay and tries to use his emeritius bullshitus status to get Maskaev out of the mandatory. For them it was about money. They wanted the Moscow gate. Which Maskaev ****ed up on with Okhello. He should have used one of the Klitschkos then and there.

Then read all the lines about Vitlay saying he can't wait to regain his WBC title. Not one article I looked up showed him having some concern over Maskaev. He doesn't call him a tough opponent or a fight that'll be hard. He only comments on WHEN he regains his title. He looks forward to being champion again. No such words about if, or Maskaev in general.

What does all of this tell you? Obviously what it told everyone else with half a brain. Maskaev was an easy mark. For anyone really. And even with Sammy overly cautious he still knocked him out. Maskaev, an opponent who had been knocked out 5 times prior, was the kind of opponent Vitlay took pride in fighting. Someone he could add to his illustrious (read:bull****) knockout percentage.

 

Sweet. I checked it out now. That's good. I saw an article that siad it was expected to take place in the fall and I couldn't imagine why. I can't wait for this fight.

 

I hope he stays retired, how is his body which was breaking down 3 years ago going to stand up to another 6 weeks training camp.

All this does is put off for another year or more the chance that we might finally only be 2 or 3 fights away from an undisputed champ.
