Oleg might beat Vitali to it. Vitali has been planning to fight the winner of Maskaev/Peter for a long time know. He will kick either one's arse.
Maybe or maybe not. I see him as an obstacle for WALDO (though they do not see it like this of course).
Terrible news for the sport. :fire Terrible news for Wlad's career. And old ex-beltholder, and the one fighter that Wlad (the only man who could unifty the titles) will never fight, coming back to clog up the division for maybe 2 fights MAX - which for Vitali means at least 2 years - then re-retiring again. We can now add another two years to the minimum time before we have an undisputed champ, and take two years off the time he might hold the undisputed title when he gets it. On the bright side, the chances of "Dr. Glassfist" making it through a training camp without falling apart is around 10%. So there is still hope.
Yes, thanks for the confirmation. I see Vitali vs. Maskaev in a mega fight in Europe. Peter will be beaten by Oleg, and Vitali won't get the chance to McCline Peter. LOL.
I'm just crossing my fingers hoping no-one picks up an injury. Peter, Maskaev, Vitali. The WBC belt is so bogged-down as it is at the moment, any further delay will make things really ridiculous. I'm still dubious about whether Vitali can handle the necessary training schedule needed. There's just been no word. Has he been doing any light drills, shadow boxing, sprints, anything? Or is it just a kind of "I reckon I can do it again" kind of confidence thing?
People seem to lose sight of the fact that he has suffered only two injuries...........One was a herniated disc injury, which really has little to do with having a fragile body. It has to do with the misfortune of coming down on your back to where it amplifies pressure on one disc. THhs can, and does, happen to many, many people, not just training athletes. And the other was a knee ligament tear, much like what happened to Tyson in the Danny WIlliams fight... The other surgery was to remove a n existing bone spur on his spine that was apparently causing pain and stiffness for years. That is not an injury, but a pre-existing condition, a spur that was pressing on a nerve, that needed correcting. So he has had just two injuries, and this whole fragile body thing is blown way out of proportion, to the point where everyone seems to actually believe he's had numerous injuries, cause they hear everyone else say it...............
Vitaly is back again, what great news! And since he is fairly WBC Emeritus Champion, I think he could have recovered slowly and nice... Nothing like being rushed into fights - after all, these men are WBC legends even if they had fought two or three title fights.
Hey, don't even bother, Heavy. These asshat haters will NEVER cut Wlad or Vitali and slack, no matter who they beat or what kind of logic you beat into them. They're like impudent, spoiled children who, when you tell them what they dont want to hear, simply plug their ears with their fingers and run around the house stopmping and yelling.
Viataly is finished... damaged goods... OLD... and he can't make it through a single training camp. Can we PLEASE move on for the love of God and all that's sacred.
But that said, how guts and bold of a move will it be, for Vitali to fight the winner of this titlefight, when he's not fought in 3 plus years, and has has three surgeries since last being in the ring. VERY ballsy move.
It's not even as simple as that, I'm more concerned with the massive ring rust and not having done any top-level training for so long. He really needs to test the waters a bit first, which is why I was so adamant that he get in a tune-up fight first for example.
