After he fought his mandatory against Gomez. He said that after the fight of Haye Vs Barett while standing next to the Hayemaker. That is the fight to watch in 2009!!!!!!
More accurately he said either himself or Wlad would fight Haye after thier mandatories and that he's personally putting it second to a Lewis rematch which he still seems to think is a possibility. Either way should be good. Wonder if Haye will take another fight in the meantime....
Haye definately needs to take a fight or two before vitali, big step up from two gunz thats for sure.
Vitali was smiling and thrilled to see haye win that fight. I think haye is gonan get Killed by Vitali. I will eb shocked as **** if that figth comes off. haye better try and get wlad
Vitali would destroy Haye. VK is smiling because he knows the fight wouldn't be hard but he would get paid a lot of money due to Haye's rising star. Haye might have some chance with Wlad if he could jump on him. I would heavily favor Wlad in such a contest, but there is a chance for David with Wlad. Against Vitali, Haye has no shot.
He's not dumb, he knows this is the only Klitschko he has a chance with. It's a small chance, but it's better than the almost zero possibility he would have vs Vitali.
Haye defeating Wlad and Lennox defeating Vitali. That'd be an interesting 2009 :smoke Not that I ever expect to see Lewis in a ring again.
David Haye certainly needs to go after Wlad. He's a clever man, he must know that is his best chance. I still favour Wlad, because when you look at when Barrett threw a jab it keeps Haye occupied. He will have massive difficulty with trying to time a right hand over Wlad's jab, without leaving himself open. But he has a chance with Wlad's very upright tense style, it just depends if he can time him and sense his rhythm. Vitali can take the shots, thats a massive problem.
Vitali is knowingly and deliberately trying to put himself between Haye and Wladimir. I agree it's Haye's far better chance.
Good points, TFFP. On an unrelated note, I hope things are going well in your country after all that has happened recently. Haye did not move well tonight. The extra bulk has slowed him down and his workrate is reduced. Barrett fought a very poorly-conceived bout. He should have just tried to get Haye to use his energy and let that extra bulk slow Haye down even more as the fight wore on. But, that's why he's Monte Barrett and not a top HW contender. And that's why Team Haye chose him for this fight. Barrett lunged and got off balance and basically performed like a jittery crack addict suffering from withdrawal symptoms who happened to stumble into the ring. If Haye has the same caution and workrate he did tonight against either Klitschko, he will be obliterated. And remember, Barrett got off the deck 5 times or whatever tonight. That is, Haye has pop but not crazy pop, at least at HW. That's a problem against Wlad. Corrie Sanders and Lamon Brewster are murderous punchers, and neither one had Wlad down to stay. Wlad finished those fights on his feet, if I recall correctly. In other words, Haye isn't likely to take Wlad out immediately even if he scores a flash knockdown. And that's probably his best chance to win, by his jumping on Wlad early when Wlad's nerves might be aflutter and his jaw exposed. It is much more likely, however, that Wlad will bomb Haye out a la Calvin Brock than that David will be able to put and keep Wlad down. Against Vitali, Haye's best chance is that VK gets old in the ring or injured. Other than that, David will be totally dominated if he fights the elder Klitschko.
I agree that Haye needs to make some improvements before he battles either Klitschko and while I think he has the skills to beat them both he won't beat them with the work rate he had tonight. I'm just glad that we finally have a huge couple of possible fights to look forward to next year. I hope that Haye stays busy though and doesn't take 7 months off waiting for a Klitschko fight, that would kill the hype and put some ring rust on, which will make it nearly impossible to beat the brothers.
