    If he had fought 2005 Rahman and won, it would arguably have been his best win, certainly among his best at least ....... so yeah, the 'ducking' story starts to sound at least a little plausible.

    However, if all you are positing is the idea that someone can spin up some fake details and add them to an already exiting story, then yes, of course they can.

    The problem is that the narratives have already been generated by there being enough verifiable evidence from the time in question. Sure, the fake sub-story might immediately have an impact on which narrative a reader sides with, but this brings me back to the point of my previous post.

    If a fan cares enough to research the claim and looks into this, they are going to find some corroboration of the factual events (which probably do more for the allegations than the fabricated elements of your OP, to be honest), but they won't find evidence to support the fake elements of the story.

    In a world in which 'Fake News' has become a thing that people are all too willing to call out, I find it hard to believe someone would swear by it and expect to be taken seriously.
