I have heard some talk of Vitaly saying that he has three fights left. I don't believe it- big Klit has already retired once before and stated that 2010 would be his last year, and here is is looking as good as ever.

Fact is, if he gives it a few more years, Vitaly has a chance to be something very special. We all know his records, and as someone pointed out, he has added a new note tonight:

Second heavyweight champ to defend the belt 40 or over
    Highest knockout percentage
    Never been down
    Never behind in a fight

The arguement against the man is that his competition has been thin. Its not all that thin anymore. Still no "great" victories, but a lot of good ones.

    Sanders
    Peter
    Briggs
    Hide
    Adamek
    Gomez
    Norris
    Arreola
    Kirk Johnson
    Kevin Johnson
    Solis
    Williams
    Donald
    Sosnowski
    Hoffman
    Bean

Now that he is forty, every win is something special. Yes, Adamek was lot smaller, but Vitaly is 40. He could credibly fight both the young guys and a few old timers like Rahmen, who recently noted he is younger than Vitklit, and keep adding.

3 more fights will probably be Haye, Stiverne, and Valeuv, all of which he would win pretty handily. Please co-sign if you would like to see him go on to fight a couple more years after that, and build a true legacy.

Yeah, if he's able to, then why not? He could fight for another two or three years beating down whatever competition that's left, and if it'll do his legacy some good, then I'd like to see him carry on.

However, it may not be that easy to do if your hunger and love for the sport is dying down. He is 40, after all. And he does have political aspirations - the secret that he was probably referring to in his post-fight interview with SkySports.

Vitali should fight Haye and then retire. It looked like he was fighting a child out there tonight. I say fight Haye, retire, and let your younger brother shine.

Vitali needs someone to knock Wlad the **** out again and then he destroys him and then then retires.

I wish the heavyweight division was not so **** but it is

For the record I think if Vitali and Wlad fought Wlad would lose a brother...

    And gain a father!

His opponent list is just as good as many in the past. I always hear it was a weak era but that is the same old story when you have a dominant champ

k lets take a look at this resume.

Solis -Fat, never done anything in the pro's
    Briggs -Old/never very good
    Sosnowski -Who?
    Gomez -Short/fat/nobody
    Sam Peter -Fat already exposed
    Kevin Johnson -Fat

I could keep going. With this list of oppenents, we've established that Vitali has dominated the most fat mother ****ers ever. Not one ATG, not one person who would even be considered a top 200 HW ATG. It's not his fault of course because there isn't anyone around to fight, but that doesn't make it a great resume.

He's a top 20 ATG HW anyway IMO, because of his dominance and that he's a H2H nightmare, but his resume is not great at all.

Solis, Gomez and Adamek are his best wins, but coming out of four years inactivity, and a few surgeries, to beat Samuel Peter that decisively, after NO tuneups.......that ranks up there among his best, as well.

That said, I think we'll see Haye get his chance, next. After that, who knows, but as long as he's dominating like this, why not keep it up?

If he starts to barely pull off wins, or starts taking more punishment, then retire, but not when you are steemrolling everyone as he is now.

If Vitali wants to quit I'm cool with it, he's got nothing left to prove.

Yea but every win against a good opponent at the age of 40 is worth a lot more than beating the same level of opponent when he was prime. A few more good wins now won't do his ATG ranking much harm :deal

True but they won't boost it either.

The guys training ethic is amazing, he could fight until he's 45 and still be undefeated. If their was a solid opponent/challenge out there I'd agree.

Maybe rematch Solis to show the world he can dismantle the guy then call it quits?

Sanders 38 years old, flabby, dangerous for a round....
Peter- biggest win ever? Mascaev king of the human knockout
Briggs- "earned" his shot by fighting 5 cans...NONE ranked in the top 50
    Hide- a very good cruiserweight
    Adamek a very good cruiserweight
    Gomez a very good cruiserweight
    Norris a very good cruiserweight
Arreola - biggest victory? handing jamile mccline his 10th loss
Kirk Johnson- good win over a guy that was at least there because he earned it
Kevin Johnson - disgraceful... whats kingpins biggest win?
Solis- good win- thats how you deal with a fat ass....get out out and out quickly
Williams- good solid win...williams was dangerous..but failed miserably
Donald (1 win in last 3 fights, now 1 win in last 4)
Sosnowski - hes probably not the toughest guy on his street,,,,talk about a padded record...haha..
sonowski is so good... he lost an 8 round dec to zuri laurence..who had 14 losses in 2008, after he didnt win a round vs vitali, he knocked out a guy with 12 losses...loser of 9 of 11) in 1 round..... then gets knocked out in his next fight...super win the dragon was

I love Vitali n will suffer from grave depression when he does retire. I hope he gives us at least three more fights...
