The skill level and size difference is so much that really this fight should be a demolision job. Against Vlad it was known that he was way superior boxer, but it was thought that it would take was one punch on his chin and the fight would be over. And that was expected that Vlad would get hit on the chin and fold. Against Vitali, Peter don't even have that hope, his chin is durable. Vlad jabed and held. I think Vitali is just going to beat Peter's ass all over the ring from the outside ( using his reach) until the fight is mercifully stopped. Peter is straight foreward, no head movement, wide punching. Vitali skill wise is on another level and will probably mangle Peter.
LOL Vitali is way more awesome than Wlad. Vitali is surely badass whereas Wlad kinda looks like a girl with his eyebrows.
I don't think that you can intimidate Peter that easiliy. Peter has been in with boxers that big before (Mc Cline and Wlad) and therefore has enough confidence to be at his best against Vitali.
There is no comparison. They have very similar physical attributes and skill, but italy is mentally very different. He is the big brother in the family. The one that cares for business first and play later. He is concentrated, ruthless and rough. Wlad is more unconcentrated, thoughtless and reactive. Personally, I think Wlad is like a cheap Chinese copy of Vitaly. Looks similar, but is really crap in comparison to the real deal.
And if press conferences and stare-downs actually meant ****-all, I might be interested in this. How many times have we seen the most visually confident fighter being the one that hits the deck? I even remember Razor Ruddock being unable to meet the glare of one of his opponents at one staredown, only to leave him looking at the ringlights within four rounds. Not saying Peter looked nervous or not, I didn't check out the link, but I do know it makes very little difference.
And then those same people will say Vitlay was done, too many injuries, was not 100%, blah blah blah. Rational people will look back on this coming loss as another addition to the factual evidence that points to Vitlay NEVER being a HoF quality guy.
Confidence is very important in boxing. I think Vitali has already chipped away at Peters confidence.
Yes. And he got taken to school by Wlad, and dropped HARD and almost stopped by McCline. And he knows that Vitali is bigger, tougher, and stronger than either Wlad or McCline. Wouldn't surprise me at all if confidence was an issue for Peter. Though a solid fighter who works to improve his game, he's not the wrecking machine that he was once hyped up as. Against Wlad, I think he took heart in the thought that if he landed one punch just right, at any stage in the fight, he would brutally and dramatically spark Wlad. He's watched Vitali fight. He knows that Vitali has never been dropped or even badly shaken. He knows the power Vitali carries in his fists, knows that Vitali will not be intimidated and knows that his style plays into Vitali's hands. Peter will be hoping for a rusty, injured Vitali. If Klit eats a couple of big Peter shots, shakes them off and then gets into his groove after the first two or three rounds and starts tagging Peter, then Peter will find himself in very deep water physically and psychologically. :hat
Peter could not even beat Wlad. He won only 3 rounds. How is he going to beat Vitali who is is bigger, tougher, has an Iron Chin, more power, willing to exchange with anyone, etc. The size and skill difference in this fight is huge. The same people that were saying Peter was going to KO Wlad are the same people that are saying he will beat Vitali. Have you people not learned anything? Peter went life and death with Jameel McCline for christ sakes! Yes, that Jameel McCline.
If it was the same Vitali who fought Williams I'd agree with, but this is a Vitali that's been on the shelf for years. I wouldn't rule out of the possibility of him losing, infact, it may be the most likeliest scenario and I like Vitali.
A faded Vitali should have no problem with Peter. Styles make fights. Peter is too short and the skill difference is huge. The only fighter(s) that Peter has fought close to Vitali are Wlad and McCline. In one fight he got outboxed badly and in the other he got dropped several times against a guy that can't punch for his size and is a timid fighter. Vitali of 2004 would KO Peter in 2 rounds or so.
That's fine, so long as you won't be all over Vitali's jock if he beats this short, unskilled fighter with apparently a dubious chin.
