Vitali does have a mean streak. That statement about not attacking Peter before the fight was great.

 

I'd like to see Vitali tell Peter with a heavy Ukrainian lisp "I will kill you until you are dead". I wonder what Peter would say to that. Either that or for Vitali to look him in the eyes and tell Peter "You Nex"

 

Peter said Vladimir was a dead man walking. He had a lot to say before against Vlad.

Not for this fight, he is being pretty quite. I think Peter knows what he has coming for him ( a ****ing beat down) if Vitali is semi- near what he was. Which he should be, Vitali looks in good shape already.

 

Peter looked scared shitless when they were face to face. Who can blame him, he's getting ****ed up in this fight.

Peter would not shut up about killing Vlad.

Before this fight, Vitali tells Peter not to be nervous, he wont attack him. And Peter has to have his manager respond for him, like he is his mother.

Vitali is old, practically falling apart and hasn't been active in years and those things cannot be denied. The Vitali that had that run in 03-04 probably won't be the same one that shows up on October 11th, making Peter the logical pick in the fight. I know a lot of fans are pulling for Vitali because he's more well known and liked (I myself am a fan), but lets be realistic here and not let favoritism or emotions cloud or judgement . Samuel Peter not only has a bigger chance then most people think, but he's probably the best or one of the best opponents Vitali's fought since Lennox Lewis. He's also powerful, aggressive and brutish which spells trouble for a fragile Vitali at this point and time.

Peter's power is overrated and that much has been documented by how many decent fighters he has KOed which is exactly one in Maskaev.

Remember how Lewis walked through Vitlay's "powerful right hand" where he couldn't take more than 2 of Rahman's right hands before taking a nap on the canvas?

Or how about Sanders who pretty much was painted with right hands and not stopped till late, whereas a hurt and retaliating Rahman starched Sanders with a handful of punches.

Maybe, who knows. The only parallel we can draw between Kirk and Sam is that Kirk KTFO a 8 years younger Maskaev out of the ring in 4, where Peter could not even score a KD.
