The WBO as given Vitlai Klitschko a ranking of #11 despite the fact that he has been out of the ring since 2004! While Vitlai would likely be a betting favorite every WBO ranked fighter, a ranking like this suggests the WBO wants Vitlai in their future plans. Vitlai is next in line to the winner of Maskeav vs Peter for the WBC belt, but Maskeav vs Peter has been delayed. The winner of Maskaev vs Peter ( if he is not injured ) might opt for an easy defense next, or delay fighting Vitlai until June 2008. I don't think Vitlai wants to wait that long. Here’s a fearless prediction. If Wlad vs Ibragimov is not made, I do think Vitlai Klitschko will fight Sultan Ibragimov next for the title.
No chance for Vitali to fight directly for WBO title. Thompson won eliminator and waiting his chance and Dimitrenko is second. Only if Vitali will fight Thompson to down him, but this is very dificult right now.
