Two Short-Term Middleweight Champions from Europe who were Long Time Fan Favourites, Two great competitors with good chins and an unquenchable thirst for battle, But Cut-prone, with Solid power, but were usally in wear em down wars of attrition, two 100% committed warriors who made their mark.

Vito and Terry both got an early introduction to fistic reality when moving up in class, with Vito being stopped by Harold Weston, and Terry in only his 3rd fight being stopped by an African tourist called Dick Tiger, Their appreciation of the qualities of a good cutsman may of begun with these cuts defeats.

Both fought their way into fans affection with good victories and brave showings, Vito over a faded Briscoe, over Corro of course, and pushing Hagler and Minter all the way in initial encounters, if not the rematches, Downes had his wins over a faded Ray Robinson, Joey Giadello and Paul Pender (1 out of 3)
so barring cuts, two tough hombres, Englishman Downes in fact was a US Marine who tried out for the US Olympic Team,

So the Italian Stallion or the Paddington Express ? Whoever wins It would probably be a Toe to Toe Blood and Guts Affair, it was their usual Modus Operandi - so would it be Victorious Vito or Triumphant Terry ?
