Canelo would toy with him, Minter was able to outbox Vito and he didn`t have a defense even close to Canelo`s. GGG would have landed far more shots and Vito than he could on Canelo, different class.
Vito has strength stamina pressure and tons of heart. Vito has a damn good resume. To just say hes no problem for Canelo I think is ridiculous. Vito robbed in 1st Minter fight IMO
Vito gets inside and mauls him. Decision win. He'd walk through anything Canelo throws and Canelo would be smelling his breath the whole fight.
Canelo has faster hands, better skill, is less prone to cuts, and hits harder. I think he slices Vito up and stops him.
Would be entertaining. Vito takes shots on the way in, but has a solid chin. Style wise this favors Canelo, but the pace likely does not. Ultimately I think Vito would have Canelo sucking air the last 4-5 rounds. By then, though, I think Canelo has a sizable enough points lead to hang on and win a hard fought decision.
You guys are overrating the **** outta Canelo's power. He ain't stopping a prime Vito. We're talking about a guy who couldn't even stop a faded, fragile Cotto. I'd favor Vito. I think he'd outwork that lil spurt fighting juicer down the stretch.
other than the cuts that plagued the large brow of Vito, he was a rugged pressure fighter with enormous strength & phyical strength who is underated. The first Hagler fight made me a believer because I thought Marvin was that good but afterwards gained even more respect for Vito because of the guys he displayed. I remember Howard Cosell saying : Vito has intestinal fortitude" Hagler fight was close, could have gone either way but Hagler didnt take his title. I thought he beat Minter as well but Minter boxed well still thought Vito retained his title. I remember Vito coming up from the amateurs losing to Eddie Gregory who later became lightheavyweight Champion. Vito turned pro fighting one of my friends Art"the Dart" Kettels Durango, Sullivan, etc. I remember his exciting fight against Cyclone Hart it was a war. That being said if not a bad bad cut Canelo wins a tough close decision but put Vito on some of the "mexican steak"Canelo has been on, you never know
This. I think Canelo is far more skilled and that he'd sweep the first 4 pretty clearly. But Vito was a machine and he didn't hold back. I see the late rounds being a beatdown for Canelo as his gas tank runs dry in the 6th and he has to somehow survive till the end on empty. If its 15 rounds I think Antuofermo stops Canelo late.
