As far as I've seen Vito was never blown out or anything even close to it. Pretty much the epitome of a fighter that you'll blow your load against trying to stop them and then regret it. He was a true 15 round fighter and his lack of power isn't overwhelmingly important when you put him in there with a guy with a weak chin to begin with.

I'd favor Vito, personally, barring a over anxious ref not giving Vito a chance due to cuts.

Well... Matthew Hilton blew him out, but Vito was a shell of himself at that point.

Benn would bomb out Antuofermo. The referee would have to stop a battered Vito from his own guts.

Mhm. Not too difficult to bowl over the walking corpses many fighters become at the end of their careers.

I would take Benn by battery.

Benn could win on cuts, clearly. I think barring that definite possbility, I think Vito could win on points, maybe even stop him. Benn was a bit of an enigma in that he could withstand the shots of a big hitter and come back but could also be badly hurt by 'non punchers' at times. I'm not sure how well Benn would cope with Vito's pressure.

Vito would wear him down but Benn could have the edge if Vito cut...but i like Vito by UD

I think Nigel wins this one. This is a mismatch.

I am surprised that Benn has not been the near unanimous choice that I thought he would be. Vito was a tough guy, that was susceptible to cuts (so that's an cause for concern???), was tenacious and seemed to get stronger as a fight wore on...Reminds me a little of mancini in that regard. Benn is probably a little larger, carries very nice power, seemed to struggle against some boxers with superior skill in that regard (ie Watson, Eubank) but that is not how Vito is gonna fight him. This has the makings of a nice war written all over it. 12 or 15 could alter this fight as well (if indeed it goes that long). I believe that Benn would certainly test him early...but not wanting to sell Vito short who had a good chin himself, I have no trouble believeing that he COULD (not necesarily would) take that barrage. I also believe he would (Vito) be working Benn's body hard (perhaps as hard as Benn ever endured) during this time, trying to sap his power and resolve as the fight wears on. I would not be surprised if Benn takes him out in 10 or less on a KO or cut's, but am not leaning that way. I think over 12 Benn would win a nice UD, but think that Vito's stamina would help him in a 15 rd fight.....

Final call in a 15 rd'r....Benn by a slim margin, although Vito looks like he got run over by a truck afterwards.... I have not heard this fight suggested on here before...Good calll.

First of all, let's just rule out Benn KO'ing Antuofermo. That just would not happen. Vito went to war with Hagler, Briscoe and Hart and they couldn't put a dent in that rock jaw of his. Benn would not show him anything he had not already seen. If you would like to cling to the possibility of cuts, then that's always a possibility. However, I've seen Benn fight many times and I could never see him beating a prime Antuofermo. Benn had many faults. His jaw wasn't the best, his stamina was crap. He would show heart in a toe to toe such as the 1st Eubank fight and the McClellan fight, but if things didn't go his way he would find a way to lose or just find a way to bail. I'm not a Benn hater, as a matter of fact I felt he deserved the nod in the 2nd Eubank fight. But I see this fight fought at close quarters and see Benn's stamina and heart failing in the middle rounds with Vito still breathing down his neck, unaffected by his blows and gaining steam and stopping Benn (on his stool) around the 8th or 9th.

Vito was hurt by Hope, Hagler(rematch) and badly rocked by Minter a few times in their rematch.

I could certainly see Benn hurting him, but might agree with you overall.Just as long as the Vito that fought Corro doesn't show up.
