I was referring to the 1st Minter fight. I do agree that Vito's record was not all that good. Corro was a mediocre champion, and Vito was a much better fighter. Griffith was, as you say, very old, and was losing to complete no names at this point, therefore it was not all that impressive (though I wouldn't call Vito a no name), Briscoe was imo only slightly over the hill, but Vito was much younger, and Briscoe lost to a lot of B and C level competition as well. The only good fighter that Vito beat when both were in their primes was Cyclone Hart, who was a B level fighter at best. In reality, probably Vito's best showings were Hagler I and Minter I.

Hart was a big puncher but, like a lot of them a bit chinny too.

agreed. I also thought Hart was a fairly good boxer save for his poor stamina.

Hearns by TKO/cuts or by decision. Vito had great durability and stamina but didn't have the power to move Hearns the way Hagler or Barkley did.

Leonard stopped him, and Vito was certainly more powerful than Leonard.

Hearns has too many advantages here.

You'll not find a tougher fighter than Vito,, I suppose that's why the fight could be stopped in the 12th with Vito a bloody mess and probably losing all but 2 or 3 rounds at best.
