Zale would kill him! Vito ( who I like) has nothing at a ll to hold Tony off or slow him down. Zale would bury his fists up to the elbows in Vito's body and tear his head off. A true killing.

You are sooo right on. That goes for Jake Lamotta too, Zale would end his career within 5 rds. Tony Zale was just too tough!

If they wasn't in Congress, they would be doing something else against us that might be even worst!

The Man Of Steel Tony Zale was one tough son of a gun in the ring with no quit in him. Vito Antuoferno was tough too, especially the way he mauled and brawled the title away from Hugo Corro in 1979. The two would most likely battle in the center of the ring, neither taking a step back in the early going. By mid fight, trainer Ray Arcel would advise his fighter to step up a larger body attack on Antuofermo, then to his face which is starting to show wear and tear from the blows of Zale. A huge gash and exhaustion spells the end for Vito in round 13.

Oh yes! I loved Mark Kram Jrs book Smokin' Joe last yr. Along with Dempsey and Ty Cobb and the 70s Raiders and Steelers, I have more on Joe than anyone else in my collection.

Tony Zale's manager and trainer was Sam Pian and co-manager Art Winch. Ray Arcel, was a great trainer and cut man, who worked with all the great fighters, and knew very well who was the best. Of course he most likely did work with Zale. I have corresponded with him on several occasions. A Great lost to the fight game.

Vito would look like he was in a car crash. Zale would have put a merciless beating on him...maybe even having him down before the ref steps in.
