Even though he came up short in his biggest fights, ive always liked his style for some reason, maybe it's cuz i like tall and lanky fighters. What's in store for harris? Don't u guys think that he's the perfect stepup for the young guns like Peterson and Victor Ortiz?
Nah,Ortiz and Peterson are too rw for Harris.Maybe Peterson can take him but Ortiz.....not so sure.Anyway Vivian is on a comeback,he is not done yey.
he doesnt have the best of chins, considering he got layed out on his ass by mausa i'd give ortiz as strong chance of beating him if maussa can find that chin cant see why some 1 of ortiz callibre having any problems
I like the guy. Imet him in Guyana once. Nice guy. I think he made a mistake in dumping steward in his corner. Steward could have made him into something special. The problem is he had the same attitude that Michael Moorer had with Steward. He was stubborn and did not listen to him. If Vivian had listened to steward's advice, I guarentee this guy would be in Hatton's, Pacman, and company's league right now. However it is still not too late for him to conquer. He has to learn to listen to his corner more and make sure that his corner is right for the job. Steward was right for the job, but i think he nedd someone like Atlas.
Not good fights from Harris's point of view, are they? Not if he's thinking about getting himself into a position for titles. I think he'd need more careful management than that. Putting his chin in the line of Ortiz's bombs is a sure fire way to end any lingering hopes.
I always heard he had problems making 140, had to cut a lot of weight, Steward said he would have been better suited to 147, but he wouldnt have the same size advantage at that weight. He was a good outside fighter, jab and right cross, occasional left hook, right hook. He had a hard time controlling the distance though, and he never handled body shots well. Juan Lazcano gave him a very close fight, was able to get inside, rough him up. He had a hard time keeping him on the outside at the end of the jab. Hatton would mincemeat him, Harris doenst handle inside pressure fighters well, and body punches do him in.
The time has come for harris as he's coming to a crossroad. It's either now or never for this guy. I hope he doesn't choke this time. Go harris!!
Yeah, this is definitely Harris' very last chance to do anything. If Ortiz sparks him, like I think he will, then Viv might as well retire.
