Because wlad dealt with so much adversity after 2004. He could have laid down and quit. However he faced adversity and beat it back with his fists. He re developed his style, became smarter and more physically and mentally mature...and has developed into one of the greatest heavyweight champions of all time. He is also a very classy and humble person. A beast of a physical specimen. Great skills deadly power in both fists one of the best jabs ever high ring iq

 

Why do haters blame WK solely for the clinching? There is a referee, three judges, and an opponent. The outcome was 117-104 x 3. Of course this fight adds to the legacy.

The bottom line is that Wlad beat a well-regarded opponent and he did it rather convincingly. How could this not add to his legacy?

 

You can be sure that if you ever again produce a contender that has a ghost of a chance of capturing the crown, and he fights Wlad, it will get grabbed by HBO or Showtime.

If the contender happens to be a favourite over Wlad, they'll beat a path to his door.

This is a significant legacy win for Wlad. There isn’t really anybody much left apart from Pulev. Apart from that he is just rounding up the best of a weak bunch, and waiting for a new challenger to emerge. He faces the very real prospect of running out of opponents soon!
