Vlad vs Thompson...YOUR PICK

    I know Tedddy Atlas picked Thompson but forget that...Thompson is a Big guy and has been on a long win streak. He is a decent boxer, long reach, goes to the body well but has beaten only a few good fighters, Krasnicki in an impressive manner, Thompson is 36 but has not been in any tough fights......Atlas could only say Vlad had a weak mind...Is that because he conducts himself like a gentlemen....IMO.. I dont see this as a easy fight because "assuming" Tucker is hungry, he has the tools to put 12 rd pressure on Vlad but has tucker really been tested at this level with a fighter with Vlad's tools......Picks

    I think Vlad looks to prove a point tonight after his last lackluster performance. I don't think Thompson moves his head well enough to evade Vlad's jab or big right hand. Plus, sadly, I don't think he hits hard enough to hurt Vlad (which is saying something). Vlad by KO in the first three rounds.

    I have a lot of repsect for Tony Thompson, i think he is one of the top 15 heavies in the world, but match ups make fights, and this is a horrible match up for Thompson. He gets hit too often..... Wladimir usually isnt a quick starter, but this one will not see the 3rd round.

    Wlad doesn't like southpaws, so he's going to fight very cautiously.

    Wlad TKO6 or 7, in a pretty entertaining fight actually.
    I think Thompson will be game, but outgunned.

    Pretty much sums it up, the finish should be pretty exciting though, because Thompsons reflexes and defense is not very good, and he's got bad stamina to add to that.. he's going down somewhere between 5-8.

    Teddy went on that rant about Thompson because he is a bit butt hurt that the best heavies aren't American. If anyone caught his interview with Steve Kim you could just feel the bias coming through the article.

    Thompson is a good fighter, better than many are giving him credit for, but I favor Wladimir.

    Thompson is underrated. He may well be the best boxer apart from Wlad right now. Krasniqui win is highly impressive.

    Can he beat Wlad? I don't know... probably not, but I would not be too surprised if he pulls the upset off.

    I've been watching some clips of Thompson, and the faact is that Thompson is just not very good. He does nothing well, and does several things poorly.
    He started boxing when he was in his late 20's and it shows.
    It seems that his only positive point is that he's kinda tall.
    Wlad should systematically destroy this guy.
