That's odd. Over here in continental Europe noone (outside of hardcore boxing fans) has ever heard of Pacman or Floyd, but every child knows the K brothers.

I think he will make the top twenty . . . I have this funny feeling though that you are trying to troll and get people to defend him. If he didnt do the jab and grab his whiskers would never have held out and he would not have lasted as long as he did. So if the governing bodies started to crack down severally on excessive holding he may have been only a footnote in time, he has no inside game and would get brutalized by the first fighter that had a good one.

I have to agree with the sentiment; that it is not his fault that the division is utter trash right now. Also, that none of the sanctioning bodings have done anythng to stop the hugfest that is worst than that **** in the UFC

I agree with everything said except the last part "It's not his fault"...well actually it is, because if he was a more exciting boxer he would be on that front page or at least up there..This is why the other great HW champs you mentioned were so popular and why they were very well known, because they were exciting fighters to watch but yeah it's also true that their exploits outside of the ring added to it although I'd say in a bad way for Tyson. Still Tyson was popular because he knocked people out in exciting fashion. If Wlad did the same thing he'd be known all over the world but he's more worried about not getting knocked out and winning fights to really throw it down with people. I don't blame the guy after what happened with Sanders and a few others that knocked him down, he's cautious but that's his choice, he chooses to fight that way.

I think it's great that he can be a role model in all the points you mentioned though and not get into trouble that's better than can be said for many champions but that's not why he isn't known everywhere.

It's funny, Ali and Lewis were the masters of the technique Wlad is using these days,
and yet no one mentions them and how boring their fights were.
I'm not a fan of this technique. I prefer the Wlad that fought Mercer-that was a beautiful display of boxing.
Yet , I still remember how boring many of Ali's fights were.

Again, Lennox was knocked out coooollllllddddd.
Wlad was never knocked out cooolldd!!!
Lewis never faced Sanders or Byrd. In fact he never faced any southpaws at all.
A loss to Sanders, there is no shame in that! A great heavyweight.

The public didn't embrace less dominant champs like Holmes and Liston. Even Rocky Marciano was looked down upon by the press experts.

    Absolut right.

He won Olympic Gold in 1996!!!

Long career and very long reigning Champion.

I hope he will become the WBC Champion too so he will be the first Heavyweight Champion with all the Major belt at the same time.

well this is the plan... has been the plan since I started working with wlad back in 2005..... we are soooo close

after wlad unifies..... IMO I don't think we will ever see another fully unified HW champion. With boxing politics the way it is now, I just don't see it happening:deal
