And if the sport we follow was actually sane he'd be first in line to challenge for it when Vitali retired. Instead the WBC put on one of the worst contention tournaments I've ever seen involving Stiverne, Arreola, Mitchell and Jonathan banks. Then had Wilder/Scott(who had recently been stopped by Chisora) as a #1 eliminator to challenge probably the worst major HW belt holder of all time. Pathetic organization.

You mean the vacant paper trinket he got from Stiverne?

Vitali chose not to defend it against Stiverne so he won it from Arroela. Stiverne won a vacant belt , not Wilder.

Vitali would have brutalized Stiverne and Wilder, too bad he retired before that ever happened.

Dino "Vitali ducked Stiverne! He knew he would lose!!!"

No doubt. He had clearly faded but still had enough to decisively beat a peak Chisora and Charr who are both still somewhat relevant. Wilder was still too raw to capitalize on a declining Vitali. Picture the Washington fight but without Vitali getting stopped and him winning a somewhat competitive but clear decision.

This is wrong. He never won it. Yes, he was the best heavyweight on the planet but regardless, he never won the belt.

    It's stupid IMO.

Yeah. The mighty Stiverne won it from the mighty Arreola!

Wilder's trinket is just as worthless as Wlad's is here.

Wlad has more than proven himself a great champion. I'm okay with the WBC giving him an honorary belt.
