March twenty-eighth at Wayne State Fieldhouse in Detroit. Headlining on DAZN, scheduled for ten rounds at super middleweight. Mike Guy has an ugly record but he's a tough out. His only stoppage loss came to Derevyanchenko in the final minute of their 8-rounder. He otherwise went yards with Younan, Akhmedov, Nicholson, Ryder and Hart - while scoring a few minor upsets along the way (Delgado, Moon, Douglin, Ball). This will be the Russian's eighth fight in his now half-decade long homestand in the USA. The climb in competition has been uneven, with the peak being his wide points victory over José Uzcátegui on Showtime in December of 2022. He fought just once last year, in a major regression of quality.
Guy is 43 years old and this is his first bout in 28 months. Although he runs a boxing gym and stays in shape I just can't see him coming back and being competitive with a fighter of Shishkin's quality without at least having a tune up bout. I have Guy going the distance due to his toughness but if Shishkin really turns up the heat Guy will be stopped.
