They are the two best at 175 at this moment.

Who would you back to win -

CHAD DAWSON v JOE CALZAGHE ??

    Votes and comments appreciated.

I don't think this one will happen, Dawson is still a bit too high risk-low reward for Joe at this stage in his career, but what do you think would happen hypothetically?

Dawson to win UD. Hard fight, probably a bit ugly, but ultimately, his size, youth, speed, strength would overcome Calzaghe's workrate and claim a hard earned ud. Calzaghe has the better chin but it's the only advantage i'd give him over Dawson and that would enable him to go the distance. Dawson would not have it his own way for the whole fight though.

At the moment, no. We'll see if JC's punh resistance is waning when he fights Jones, who still has the power in both hands to give Calzaghe trouble. If JC comes through that, ok, I would see him going the distance with Dawson. All Dawson has to do to win this fight is discourage Calzaghe from imposing his prodigous workrate. Should he somehow manage that, then the fight is his.

Dawson beats Calzaghe.. Unanimous decision.. No way Calzaghe is going to fight him though.. He'll go for the smaller Pavlik..

Dawson looked good tonight. I'd have my money on him.

I'd be rooting for Dawson, but I gotta' think that if Calzaghe can still go 12 rounds at full-tilt-boogie he outworks Chad in a close UD.

styles make fights and dawsons style of speed and movement and angles would be enough to get a close decision in a war, I don't think at this very moment there is a fighter at 175pounds that can beat bad chad dawson, maybe in a little while or until something gets exposed? but as of now he's the only young fresh light-heavyweight in his prime with atg potential

Is Pav actually smaller? Or just skinnier at this point? Prolly doesn't matter. I highly doubt Calzaghe risks either one. Bet he retires after outpointing RJJ.

Stoppage or points Dawson beats Calzaghe . . . Calzaghe is not even a real LH.
