A heads up for the Sports Personality of the Year awards tonight, live on BBC 1 at 7 PM. David Haye is up against nine other sportsmen and women and is the only boxing representative.

The voting lines open when the broadcast begins at 7 PM and Haye, and boxing, needs as many votes as possible. A win for David will only help the case for getting boxing back on terrestrial television in 2010.

    Vote Haye! :bbb

I'm not fussed who wins it, so long as it isn't Button.

Given that the award is 'Sports Personality of the Year' I've voted for Jessica Ennis..... Haye would have been my second choice but let's be honest here, other than beating Valuev he did absolutely nothing other than talk smack.

If he beats both Klitschko's next year, he will be an absolute shoe-in however, and will have my vote without question.

Sorry if that makes me a traitor!

I've just put £2 on Haye at 40/1 as a throwaway...... then laid £2 against Jenson Button.

The upshot being that if Button doesn't win it, I will be at least £2 up (and a very happy guy) - if David wins it will be £80 for moi.

    :yep

I'd give F1 drivers more credit if they won whilst all driving the same car, as it is, Button had the best car, and whilst he isn't a bland, false pain in the arse like Lewis Hamilton, I don't see him as being particularly personable really.

Haye isn't everybody's cup of tea, I quite like him but don't feel he has done enough this year to warrant winning the award.
