it might mean little to you.

conn's resume speaks for itself. If you don't like it, it's your choice.

His resume is excellent. It is ATG.
The only thing I'm saying is that Krieger, Apostoli, Yarosz and Corbett III were great middleweights.

    Who says I don't like it ?

I was probably singing the praises of the great Billy Conn before you were even born.

The division's best puncher for my money is also 13-0 (?) in LHW title fights. Not a deep resume but a hugely dominant reign. Should always be above the 13-4 (?) Jones IMO, but I also think Jones shouldn't ever be that far behind. He has similar quality, similar defences and looks slightly better (if smaller) on film.

The more I learn, the more I like. I think he was a ring genius. Resume is not to be sniffed at either. Wins over Greb, Miske and Levinsky are cornerstone.

If someone on my list is overated, it'll be this guy.

none says you don't like it. I said it would be your choice if you didn't.

Well I'm 24 so it's not beyond the realms of possibility. Still beating great MW's in LHW fights make for great LHW victories.

Has there been a more unlucky fighter? I know the war hurt a lot of guys, even guys like Conn who have great and celebrated championship calibre careers, but who is to say that Bivins wouldn't have beat him ugly? Great resume and clearly a great fighter his stint as caretaker champ doesn't do his ability justice I don't think. There likely weren't many between 1761and 200 this guy couldn't give a very very hard night to and although there's an element of coin-toss to my choice at numbers 9 and 10, Bivins is as deserving as anyone.

As long as this is applied evenly and consistently, I have no problem with it.

So Langford has went from being in twice to being in nto at all. I don't hate him or anything now i'm just a bit concerned. He can slot right back in if i feel better about it. I'll start a thread on it at some point. Nowish.

Load of other guys could make it into the ten as we all agree, Roy Jones, Harold Johnson the list goes on and on. Feel bad.

Well i'm going through my database of boxers in this manner.

I'm of the opinion that a great fighter is a great fighter regardless of the weight.

would it be better to beat Apostoli at MW? of course, but it's still great to beat him at LHW. as for Apostoli, well he isn't a great LHW anyways so the loss doesn't hurt him.

For example I think hopkins deserves a tonne of credit for beating Pavlick and Winky both of who were the best Mw in the world at the time of the victory. He'd have gotten more credit had he dropped to Mw and beaten them there but who does that in reality? (aside from dawson who will get huge props if he beats Ward)

Does Bivins really deserve a top 10 placement? He did a lot of fighting at HW and often his best LHW wins were when he had big weight advantages. I don't know if I see it. I think a guy like Harold Johnson is more deserving. He beat Bivins, and also beat bigger fighters at LHW (Charles, Moore, Valdes, etc). I guess whether you think a weight advantage or past-prime is a bigger deal is up to you. Bivins probably edges him in depth though.
