Once again a poll finds GGG a clear winner in BOTH fights. Sad part is the Moonelites refuse to accept the truth they STILL insist Moo won ROFLMAO. Even Bennett, the NSAC, Vegas boxing & Oscar Fishnets KNOW GGG really won. but he wasnt their cash cow. Hopefully the Moonelites will finally accent the polls decision but I doubt it
This has been done to death, Golovkin won both fights (very competitive fights but clear IMO). There is no reason for a third fight
yeah credit where it's due.I know Isal and the others like to think we just straight up haters as that's all they know but I always said whilst I hate the A side BS,dubious scorecards as a fighter there's nothing to dislike, doesn't foul or hold and is in is prime. Hate that Golovkin was stuffed but it's nothing new when an older champ takes on the star attraction.
ain't just the.majority on here either, when the newspaper's and other media say the same then you gotta go with that.
Golovkin 8-4. He outlanded Canelo again, but this time he was the guy landing the harder, cleaner shots. He made Canelo miss wildly on occasion (that gets extra points according to the Canelitas, remember) and he actually had Canelo hurt this time, whereas in the first fight neither fighter was really dented.
In the first fight most agree that Canelo won rounds 1-3 & rounds 10-12 . Based on that alone how can you argue G won it clearly ? Even if you dispute one or two of those rounds, certainly GGG didn't win any of those rounds clearly. Then you have other debatable rounds like round 4 or 6 which others have admitted are close. After the rematch, there's been a kind of amnesia when it comes to the first fight with claims that the first fight was a clear GGG win. The first fight was a very close fight, anyone who says otherwise is being dishonest. Look, I had the fight 8 rounds to 4 in favor of Canelo but I wouldn't say it was a clear Canelo win. You had several extremely close rounds that could swing the bout in favor of one fighter or the other. It just wasn't the kind of fight that either guy won clearly, and regardless of what the decision was, a rematch was certainly warranted given how close and competitive it was.
It's hard to take you seriously with a comment like this. You determine whether a match is close or not by what happened in the bout not by a poll. And we know full well this forum has a lot more GGG fans than Canelo fans so that's why there's a GGG majority. And as far as the polls in the first fight, the vast majority of the media and polls having GGG winning had a lot to do with expectations and the hype surrounding GGG going into the bout. Most expected GGG to win and couldn't bring themselves to admit they were wrong when they observed what happened. And you had the Byrd factor, that scorecard caused a lot of people to claim GGG won simply to protest that card. And you had the fact that GGG was coming forward all night throwing more punches and trying to outvolume Canelo. You had Canelo backing up for a good amount of the bout. Only a small minority were able to see through that stuff and avoid the herd mentality of GGG coming forward, his hands were moving more therefore he won. In the rematch Canelo was coming forward so you didn't have that phenomena. The beatdown that Canelo put on GGG in the rematch was impossible to ignore or deny, whereas in the first fight you really had to be paying close attention to the punches landed and the quality of the impact, which the vast majority do not pay attention to as they were instead focused on other stuff.
