Mayweather has finally recovered his 15 pounds of lost muscle, so he announced his return for may 4th 2013. The opponent is still TBA

If you could pick the opponent for this annual event, who would be?

Forget about Pac or Martinez, this poll contains only plausible or semi-plausible options

Martinez already has a fight in April and Floyd-Pac just wont happen. period

147 is where he belongs and so I'd say Guerrero or the Alexander-Brook winner. Would love to see him beat the living **** out of the former.

Because then you'd have to put Geale, Chavez Jr, Sturm, and Golovkin.

And obviously those fights would mean more than WW opponents but to expect that is just plain stupid.

It's like saying: "Donaire is a pus because he won't fight Uchiyama." Or making a thread for whom Donaire should fight and listing Uchiyama and Broner.

Martinez has said he's willing to drain himself to 150lbs for a Mayweather match and accept a 80-20 split

Martinez would probably be a walking corpse come fight night and it'd be a joke match, but money makes the world go 'round

I'm intrigued by a Trout fight.

If I had my way, I'd put Mayweather in with Alvarez or Trout. Those are the two most intriguing fights to me. I think it'll be Guerrero or Bradley, however.

A victory over Trout would be Floyd's best victory in years.

A natural 154lber and undefeated champion in his prime, unlike blown up, damaged goods Cotto

Canelo shares the aforementioned atributes (I dont think Canelo has peaked yet, though), but Trout's resume is much better after adding Cotto's scalp

    But he'll fight Guerrero.
