I think he'll go at least 8, and give him a 33% chance of making to the final bell.

he will bring wlad money (ppv in poland) and rtl wants wlad to fight in europe to have higher ratings. i think that we will see a fast, powerful monster wlad in this fight against a very slow flat footed, low ability fighter with a good chin and a little power. wlad will still look way bigger than wach because he is a physical monster. people underrate that. wlad is the strongest physical fighter right now. he will push wach around

The problem is Wach has zero defense and reflexes and will eat each and every jab and straight right from Wlad. He will get stopped within a few rounds no doubt.

This is a good post. It's not really Wlad's fault, but he's fighting someone who hasn't beaten anyone yet who isn't in the top 10. He can be seventeen foot ****ing fifteen and that's still no kind of legacy enhancer. Treading water versus a nobody is what this is.

Yeah, but this isn't precedent setting. Many recent opponents had similar issues of either not beating anyone in the top 10 or not doing so in the last few years and clearly being over the hill. But because its clear that most in the top 10 are playing the waiting game, you cannot blame K2 for these choices and neither can you condemn these fighters for accepting such a fight.

Agreed. But all it takes is one punch. Let's play a purely hypothetical game. Suppose Wach manages to get fortunate and land the same punch that knocked out McBride cold for 10 minutes. I frankly don't see anyone standing up to that short right hand (well maybe McCall or Tua could do it) and certainly not Wlad. For sure, odds are that Wlad will land something big sooner but even the possibility of Wach landing that monstrous punch is tantalizing and for a guy with a 3" reach advantage, albeit much slower and less skilled, maybe not so far fetched. Again, all it takes is one punch and I hope Wach will be swinging away cause that's his only chance to make something happen.

Better than the last 2 bums Wlad fought. Klitschko wasted time with Mormek getting himself injured. He should have dropped that fight, and fought somebody better. 2 title defenses in 12 months against these lesser fights since Haye, is bollocks.

This will make 3 fights in 2012.
Thompson was a mandatory, and Wach is a good opponent,
with the politics, and fighters ducking, in boxing today you can't
ask for much more. Everyone seems to be waiting for Vitali and Wladimir to retire...
at least Wach has the balls to step up.

Thompson made about 1.2 mil for the Wlad fight. Wlad made about 5 mil. These are estimates I've read.
Ive read that Wlad vs Arreola would fetch almost 10 mil for Wlad and 3-4 mil for Arreola.
I'm POSITIVE that Thompson would have stepped aside for less than a mil. Hell, probably less than 500K if he was able to get a different fight or a shot at Vitali, which is HIGHLY possible had he not been fighting Wlad.:think

It's not a good fight at all unless you want to show people why the "He only wins because he's big" theory is legit ******ation.
