I don't see a problem with these terms. What's the prob with 3 options? Isn't that pretty standard? Wach should become mandatory then if he thinks that's the better route.
there's nothing special about a rematch if the champ loses BUT the klitschkos could dictate the following THREE fights of wach... you really endorse everything wladimir does, don't you?
It is a voluntary defence. If Wach wants the chance to become The Heavyweight Champion (WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO belt on line) he should sign the contract or he should shut up and fighting bums. By the way it does not matter if he had to make 3 fights for K2. He will not win. So it does not matter. Wach has cold feet nothing else. Wladimir was the IBF Mandatory Challenger but he paid 4,5 Million Dollars to Byrd and options on 2 fights!!! Never mentioned that he was the slave from Byrd. Wlad wants to become Champion again.
Options on 3 fights are completely unprecedented in the history of boxing. A rematch clause is one thing but having to fight a different fighter? That's unprecedented.
One of the possible opponents mentioned it in the past. The location and purses are decided by K2 in the initial contract, they are not renegotiated in the case of a loss, which is completely unfair. You could have a case where Wach is undisputed champion of the world, has several world titles, is the number one fighter in the division and yet is still making less than $500,000 and fighting wherever K2 choose. That is not fair, no matter what anyone says.
David Haye signed a 3 fight options contract with Sauerland in order to get his voluntary shot against Valuev. Obviously 3 options are standard terms for voluntary defenses.
sure they did. venue is always decided by the promoter. Opponents as well - as long as they will meet abc standards of the championship contender. The choice of opponents is fairly clear in case of K2. If Wach somehow wins the title should he fight Vitali next in unification or Ustinov in the local gym?
There's a big difference between a promoter taking a small cut of future fights and dictating everything. What K2 do is have two rematches, which means they have a significantly bigger part to play than in the deals you're talking about. Sauerland basically receive a small cut from Haye's fights but he is free to fight whoever he wants, whenever he wants. That is the difference here.
So you don't have proof of what future options and % cuts Wach has or hasn't been offered then. If you don't even know what X is then it's a bit pointless making an emotional argument arguing how disgraceful X might possible turn out to be in the future. It's daft in fact.
Wlad offers Wach to fight for the Heavyweight Championship of the world, IBF/WBO/IBO/WBA. But Wach wants to fight Ray Austin. He should be ashame of himself.
Wach didn't seem to have cold feet a couple days ago when he took this picture. Guess he figured it's better to not get KO'd, lol. This content is protected
